I have a lg optimus q and the web browser has started displaying funny. It use to have a listing like facebook, new and weather, yahoo email and now it just have these things listed in small blue writing and it just started doing this on its own. I have tried to restore the default settings for my web browser but it does not do anything. If anybody can help I would appreciate it

Now, to me, it sounds like a setting that has to do with bookmarks. Like, maybe it switched from displaying an image to just text? If so, I'd hit the menu button and try to dig through the settings for the browser.

If that isn't it, have you considered the Google Chrome browser as an alternative? I use it and I really like it. I've heard of other members using the bookmark sync feature to keep their desktop bookmarks up to date with the bookmarks on their phone, which might be a useful feature for you.

9to5 has given you some very good advice above. If you do decide to go with a different browser, chrome isn't a bad option at all. Boat is another good alternative too (what I use).
