Android Browsers and HTML5

I just got a Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 and love it so far. It's the first Android tablet I've used that seems as polished as the iPad.

I'm having one major problem though. For some reason, it just won't play HTML5 video reliably, no matter which browser I've used. I've tested the videos with an iPad, so I know they should be able to play in the browser.

And they do, but only rarely. I've had YouTube videos play, and then gone back to them only to get the Flash required message. It's capable of playing them, but for some reason it won't switch to the HTML5 version of the video. Very frustrating.

I can get them to play if I go to the mobile version of Youtube, but there are sites where this isn't an option, and I didn't get a tablet to have to use the mobile version of web pages.

Samsung does use a custom version of Android 4.1.2, so I wonder if that's the problem?

Im on samsung based 4.1.2 firmware and i dont have a problem with flash or html5 mate. Have you tried a few different browsers?

I just installed flash and videos are playing better now. I was hoping to rely on HTML5 since it worked so well on the iPad, but this'll do, I guess.

Thanks.
