Android clock is 10 mins fast (HTC Phones)

Don't ask me why but I think it's Google maps? I've had an automatic update for it the other day and thinking about it, it's been since then that I've noticed the time difference. Either that or a Facebook problem.

But then I'm new to the HTC Desire and am no techy, so make of it what you will! lol

Same problem here. HTC Evo Shift on Sprint.

Totally confused the hell out of me this morning. I set the clock manually, then switched back to automatic a few minutes later and it seemed to be okay. But that was 2 hours ago, and now I see that the clock is 10 minutes fast again.

Extremely annoying, but thankfully it's fast instead of slow. Can you imagine how many people would be late for work/school/appointments thanks to this mess?

I also installed the Google Maps update last night, but so did my husband (who has the same phone as me), and his clock is fine.

Mine went wobbly like this yesterday (26th May) and I had installed the Google Maps update - going to remove it and see what happens.

AT&T branded HTC Inspire, Alaska time zone, no new apps installed in last week, some updated yesterday, don't remember which ones. Checked with my cubie neighbor who has iPhone on same AT&T network and her time was correct. I set my time to manual and corrected. About an hour later I set it back to auto, has kept the time for a couple mins anyway.

Google's great, it always leads me to the places I need to find, love that I found a thread with my exact problem in less than 3 seconds of searching. Thanks so much El Presidente for working with all of us on this issue.

Unbranded Desire S phone on Orange network (UK). It's been 2 minutes fast, 58 minutes slow (daylight saving issue?) and 8 and 10 minutes fast, its also given me crap keep resetting to HTC screen for a moment before reloading the frontpage (with the clock/weather on it). Ticking auto update seems to have helped the issue as the phone keeps resyncing so if i touch the clock it usually resets itself to the right time.

Still very annoying

My wife and I have had the same problem with our phones. All started straight after the 2.3.3 update. We are on the 3 network. Quite annoying as i thought i was late for work this morning and never stopped to get a coffee... :(

Edit: No recent apps added. Just the 2.3.3 update

Had the same problem yesterday, my Evo 4G (Android 2.2) on Sprint was running 13-14 minutes fast, it was a pain since I use the battle.net mobile authenticator, kept having to re-sync it just to be able to login on SC2/Wow.

I rebooted the phone a couple times and the problem seems to of vanished, no idea what caused it, I haven't even updated my phone in a few weeks.

I have the same issue. Alarm went off 10 mins early this morning. Adjusted the clock to manual for now and it seems to be fine. But as soon as I set to auto update, the clock will be 15 to 20 seconds fast .

The only two updates I installed yesterday was the Google maps and Youtube apps. I have a HTC Incredible 2 on Verizon, and on pacific time.

"It has come to our attention that certain HTC handsets appear to be showing the wrong time, we'd like to reassure you that we are currently working to rectify this and will have an update for you shortly.
"We apologise for any inconvenience this may be causing."

Happened to me today..rushing to meet my brother. The Eco-Drive watch I have went out of sync once, so I assumed it was the watch to blame.

Then I get home, and sure enough, it's 10 minutes earlier than my mobile's clock. Thank God for the internet! I thought I was going mad.

On GiffGaff, SIM-Free, though I don't think that matters.. :)

I did the Google Maps update a few days ago, if that's the link.

Hey guys, i'm using a branded desire hd on telus network in canada and when i saw this thread i checked my phone and it was ten minutes ahead. I went to date and time settings and unchecked automatic and then checked it again and time is correct for now.

I skimmed thru and havent seen any HTC Heros (Sprint) (though might have missed it) but mine is going between 10 and 11 min fast off and on as well. (WI, USA)

Check this out. My brother was dropping something off for me earlier and texted me when he was outside my house but when I got the message, the time was....... TEN minutes ago! So when I opened the door he had gone! Just found it so weird that as soon I get the text, the time it wants sentences wasn't TEN minutes! The same damm issue we've had all day! lol

Don't know if its related to the clock problem or just a coincidence, either way it freak me out! lol

i have evo... on sprint.. rooted .. on myn warmz..
it was fast all day...

my old hero.. not on service... was correct.

rebooted the evo.. it correct for now...

Happened to me yesterday. Desire HD. Almost had heart failure cos thought I was late for work.
I changed it back manually then turned back on automatic, has been fine since.

I received a software update last week to 2.3.3, and ever since I have had this time issue as well, and also had the issue linked to where messages are displaying out of sync in my SMS inbox.

I've also noticed that my WIFI doesn't hold onto a weak signal which I believe is another documented problem. Rather disappointed all in all tbh.

I'm on an Unbranded Desire HD - on Vodafone btw.
