Android clock is 10 mins fast (HTC Phones)

No problems for me, I have the DHD's us twinneh, the Inspire, unrooted, using 2.2.1. Nothing in the Inspire forum either. I will be keeping an eye on it though.

I had this problem the other day and unticked the automatic box, set the time to a different time (not the current time but a time a few hours in the past) then ticked the automatic box again.

After ticking automatic the phone then amended the time to the correct time and has stayed correct since then.

(on Orange branded Desire in the UK)

Watched mine for a few days now. Since ticking the auto update for weather and time it doesnt do the reset thing now but its still reporting slightly oddly.

(Desire S btw, Orange)

I touch the button to wake the phone and the correct time displays on the bar but as soon as i pull down that bar to unlock the keypad the clock on the main screen displays the time exactly 1 hour and 2 minutes slow. Then it auto corrects instantly.

It's hardly a problem but i'm sure it shouldn't be doing that

I'm not sure if that's a bug or just something deliberately put there to look fancy, but it's been commented on before a while back. It does it on my DHD too.

If I can and you want to take a look, I'll see if I can find the thread.

Ah, no worries. Now you mention it I've looked and it even does it when I close a call, like its showing a little activity just to attract attention. I suspect you might be right about it being there to look fancy...

Same problem right now with HTC Desire. Where is this patch that is written of ? Where is the thread this was moved to in the lounge? Nobody has come back confirming a solution.

We do try ;)

It looks as though this is only happening on HTC handsets at present (I've had a very quick scan and there doesn't appear to be anything else in many of the popular phone sub-forums).

Are all of your handsets unbranded? For DHD owners, if you look under Settings -> About Phone -> Software Info does your build number look like one of the following - 1.32.405.xx/1.72.405.xx/2.36.405.xx? I'm not sure about build numbers for other HTC handsets, apologies.

I suspect, but can't confirm, that unbranded handsets will pull their time info from a HTC server as opposed to a one associated with the network companies, similar to the way with which OTA updates are released. However, if someone has a network branded handset and they are experiencing this issue, the above is most likely wrong ;).
Apologies, I just noticed the time stamp. Just wanted to add I have an xperia and I'm on giffgaff and I'm having the same problem of the clock being 10 minutes fast. It really wind's me up sometimes.

No need to apologise!

From memory, I think this resolved itself tbh.

My other half has an Xperia on Giff Gaff and she's never mentioned anything to me about a problem with the clock. Which Xperia do you have?

I think it's an Xperia S. It's a few years old so that might be the problem. Time for an upgrade methinks lol.
