I have merged the two threads you started as they seem to be about the same thing.

After it crashes, are you still able to send/recieve sms messages? If I understand correctly, the sms service cashes (if it's an app called "crash sms" then I don't know). In theory it should restart itself being a system service and all. Just check if sms messages send/recieve ok. I sometimes get crash errors on some apps (never on services) so don't worry, it's not uncommon.
