Help Android crashes only on certain locations

Lurker
Hello,

I'm experiencing some very strange crashes on my HTC Sensation. The crashes occur exclusivly if I'm inside my university buildings. The phone shuts off completely without any warning. If I boot the phone after such a crash some things are magically changed: System time, system date, battery charge level, signal strenght is down, and GPRS is the highest available data-link. No error-log is given at reboot. But here is the catch, if i'm at home or anywhere else I'm experiencing no crashes whatsoever.
I think that the University 802.1X WiFi has something to do with the crashes. The phone is unable to log into the network (all credentials and settings are right) if I don't supply my "reference-password". Untill i do that the phone endlessly tries to connect to the network. Forgetting the network doesn't help, powering off the WiFi doesn't help either. Crashes keep occuring.
I did a soft factory reset, and updated to ICS and still it crashes within 3 minutes after boot. I have run out of options, I have no idea what can be causing these strange crashes. My phone is now as usefull as a brick.

Greetings.

hi Neils,

can't really help, but if your problems started after update to ICS, I don't think you are alone.
After I updated about 5 days ago, loads of random seemingly unrelated probs.
There are very many complaints over the various Android Forums. Quite a lot seem to be around wifi being on or off.

For me for example I use Go Launcher, and when I turn wifi on when at home for example, evry time phone goes to sleep/stanby HTC sense launches itself, followed byGo launcher. Then Go launcher works OK.
B ut when I turn wifi off, the HTC sense kicks back in and I have to use that and change back to Go launcher.

No idea what the problem is, but there are plenty of others with issues around wifi and ICS.
