Help Android Default Contact Image/Icon

[cogancorp]

Rooted Android 4.4.2 / Samsung S4 - Anyone know the folder location for the goofy default contact image/icon that shows up on all incoming and out going calls?

[Hadron]

It's probably inside the phone app. I would not expect it to be a separate image in some folder in the /system area.

I'm pretty sure it's in phone.apk (usually sec_phone.apk with Samsung)

I'd look in phone.apk/res/drawable-mdpi (or hdpi) or phone.apk/res/drawable-land-mdpi (or hdpi)

It's actually a PNG inside phone.apk. This thread should help you.

n.b. ensure you have a current nandroid backup, and ideally also copies of any original system files you modify, so that if it doesn't work you can easily restore your phone.
