Help Android default email application

I have a problem with the Android default email application
Simply when I compare it with the outlook I have on my laptop I can notice that some emails is missing, in some cases these missing emails is really important
Note: on my laptop I didn't setup sub-folders in the inbox, all is saved on the root email inbox

What I would suggest is downloading another app, and see if it still does the same thing. That was you can see if it is the app or something about your email client. Since the app is just pulling from the server you point it to.

If your laptop Outlook is set to delete emails off the server after downloads, then they won't show up on your Note 2. Check this out. If this is the case, set Outlook to leave messages on the server for some length of time...let's say 60 days.

Are you set up as POP or IMAP?

IMAP will keep everything in sync, so if you delete an email from your phone it will delete it from your other devices if they are set up as IMAP.

POP works independently, so that could be what's happening as mntom discribes.

Thanks for your replies,

I have tested the K9 and another software and it works fine,
So I guess the problem is with the email software I have on my phone,
any Idea on how to fix this out ?

Do the emails not showing up contain pictures or attachments of any good size ? You may need to adjust the size limit

I use the stock Android e-mail app on my Bionic all the time and never have this issue. I used too, but as mntom said earlier, I had to go into both e-mail apps and set how the app/program is to handle server retention. I currently have my desktop set to delete e-mail from the server when I download it to my desktop (because this is where I store and back up stuff.) I have my laptop set to only delete items from the server that I delete from the laptop and I have my phone set the same way. After downloading mail to my desktop and syncing my laptop or phone, I can only see the mail that has come in since the last time I downloaded my desktop. You can use different combinations of the settings on the different devices to accomplish anything you want within the boundaries of the mail system (pop or imap) that you are using.

I have used K9 in the past and it is a good package, but I have found that the stock android apps (in their current version) are just as capable and using them keeps some of the clutter that another app would add off the phone.

Check your settings on your computer and on your phone.

I had the same problem with the stock email app and use K9 because I could set it to download emails to the phone for viewing without deleting them from the server. I prefer to let the desktop PC control when they are deleted because I get many work related emails that I can't afford to lose.

Actually I don't even check my "regular" emails from my phone unless I expecting something, so I don't let K9 sync them automatically. The bulk of emails to my regular AT&T account is like a daily avalanche!

Only limited people have my G-mail addy so those sync to the phone automatically thru the Gmail app.

beleive me I checked all,
even I have my colleagues in the company running same application and having same phone without any problem
on top of that I'm a specialized networking and datacom engineer with long experience on setting and tuning applications with their back-end cores like exchange with client based sync and so on

so I would ask on where and how to escalate this, and who can help with this sever problem,
as i started to miss some really critical / important emails

thanks

I'm just an ordinary user but given your comments and the various suggestions in previous responses, I wonder whether a 'long shot' may be worth a go. That is to clear the data & cache, force stop and possibly disable the email app before restoring everything again.

PS I should have mentioned that clearing data will require re-configuration of the app
