Help Android default web browser history

Golid

Lurker
I have been using the default web browser and now I got many entries that I want to keep. I thought I could maybe transfer them to my computer somehow.

Any ideas? anyone know how?

I believe that your history is saved in a database file somewhere in data/data/comandroid.browser/ I'm unsure which one it is though. Anybody know?

You could trawl through your history and bookmark the sites you want to keep and either export them or sync them with your Google account. Time consuming I grant you but it would work. Probably best in the future to get used to bookmarking regularly! :)

You can use MyBookmarks. After backup, transfer the exported file to your PC for import.

My phone is not rooted, can I access it?
and what format is the database in?

I thought about what you suggested, and figured it would be the only way to do it.
I guess if the app mentioned below does not work I would have to bookmark the entries and then transfer them.

You said either export them or sync them with Google account, I have no idea how to do it. I'd appreciate it if you tell me :)

Can you please explain more about this app and how to use it in more detail?

Sorry, my bad... you wanted to save browser history... I do have a suggestion for you to try.

you could try going here if you haven't done so... and login with your android gmail account

https://www.google.com/history/

and most likely your web searches through your android browser will be stored by google/android here. exporting them however requires a little effort, unless there's an option to export them. I had mine turned off so I can't help you much on that.

this app seems to be doing what you're asking:
Code:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.glisco.android.backup
it seems to have a function of exporting history information onto a file that firefox/chrome can import from... it requires you to enter your login information to produce the files required... so if you're concerned about security of your account, then perhaps this suggestion should be avoided.

On Squinty's suggestion. Settings - Accounts Sync - Tap your Google Account - and Sync Internet. You can then check with google history to see if its there.
