Android Device Manager question

Hello...I have configured my phone accordingly. My question is if the location is turned off on my phone is it still possible to wipe and lock the phone? Thank you

This Google page says:
Before you can use Android Device Manager to locate your device: Your device's location access need to be turned on and be signed in to your Google Account. Android Device Manager won't work for devices that are turned off or that don't have a mobile data or Wi-Fi connection.

So, yes, do you need location access turned-on/enabled for ADM to fully function.

ADM has a few different functions: locate your phone; ring your phone, wipe and lock.

I think location access is required if you want Android Device Manager function to locate your phone, but only internet access is required for the wipe and lock function that the op asked about. (it's wouldn't seem logical to require location access for the wipe and lock function)

An Internet connection is enough to wipe or look your device. Location service is only useful if you want to locate your phone physically, but it still requires Internet connection.

You need location on to remotely locate the device, location on or off does not matter for allow remote lock and erase. That is my understanding of how it works, on my phone anyway.
