Some times not always, their is a small pinhole in the decice, us a paperclip to push in the button inside the hole, does a reset. Look on the back of the device towards the top.

Welcome to AF by the way!!!

When you first got your tablet did someone else help set it up for you, with the WiFi password, Google account details etc.? Because it would have been at factory defaults when you first got it. And when you hit the reset it went back to those factory defaults everything got deleted, and so things like WiFi password and Google account would have to be re-entered. The clock would be wrong after a reset as well, until it's corrected either from the internet or manually.
