Android File Transfer macos problems?

So running macos 10.6.8. Been plugging my Galaxy NOte 2 using USB hub and Android File Transfer app without any issues for all long time now.

BUT, as of last week, no longer works. When I plug in the phone, I get a window popup on the phone saying it cannot find any thing on the macos to make a connection, try Kies. Also, the Android File Transfer app says no device is connected.

So, one of 2 things happened, an update from Verizon on the phone, OR an update from Apple for the macos.

any ideas or thoughts on how to solve this?

Try plugging the phone directly into the computer, not into the hub.

Well, Kies found the device, but errs on backup. Android file transfer still a nogo.

So, AirDroid is the new guy on the block. Works perfect with and without USB hub. More more hassles....
