Is there a way, other than just typing them all in, of getting my phone contacts (in the people tab) into the Gmail/Google contacts? You'd think there would be a utility for such a thing but I sure can't find it. Thanks!

ah, sorry. I paid my kid $5 to manually enter the contacts into my new phone. I just switched over from Alltel and supposedly there was no way to automatically move my contacts over from phone to phone. it wasn't until most of the contacts were added to the new phone that I realized Google wouldn't pick them up.
Yeah, I know..pretty dumb!![]()

LOL. Am I going to have to pay her another $5 now to type them into Google contacts in Gmail?

No. They should go to Google automatically. Make sure under accounts/sync you have contacts (calendar too if u want) that it is checked.
Actually she should have done there.![]()
Actually, I think it depends on how they were added. When adding a contact, you have to specify that you want to add it to your "google" account, then it will sync.
The Contact Type field has three options, Google, SIM, and Phone. The default is Phone.
Unfortunately, you might have to fork over another $5. The good news is your kid can enter them online instead of typing them into the phone.
He wanted them to google, so that is why I said she should have done there.
If they are all input to "phone" just export, then import to google contacts, all from the people app.

Don't feel bad skinien, I was thinking the same thing.
Thanks for the help gobluejd, that worked! I had no clue how to do that.![]()
