Help Android IR Question

First, I don't know if this is the right place to ask this but here I am :D

So today at Walmart I bought an Air Hogs link IR emitter, however unfortunately the app for it is no longer on the play store.

So my questions are:
1. Does anyone have the apk for this device?
2. Is there a way that I can use this device for an emitter for my tv? (Brand: Magnavox)
-I have tried a few TV remotes but no luck :(
-When I used these apps and look at the diodes with my tablet camera (which works to see IR light) nothing shows up. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

So does this thing plug into micro USB or what mate?
Was there ever an app for it on Play?
If so, check the site APK Mirror
Or Google and install the app F-droid which is a legit alternative app store with old removed apps on it.
Good luck.
Also, try mailing the manufacturer, maybe they'll mail you the APK.

Cheers Mikey boy :thumbsupdroid:

OP if you have no joy finding the app, I'd take it back to wallmart. They shouldn't have sold you a device with no software support

ok....so my wifi being super slow....

1. it plugs into the headphones jack
2. There's no listing number apk mirror
3. it was only $5 so I'm not worried about returning it

Oh well no great loss then. Did you try f-droid?
Also I assume the reason other remote control apps don't work is that they assume a built-in IR transmitter on the phone

no I haven't tried f-droid
and I've tried ones that say ir via jack (interesting symbol.....idk how I did that XD lol) including ir Droid and nothing

Well here's f-droid (worth a try)
In phone Settings, Security, enable "Unknown Sources" before downloading (sorry if you knew that but you'd be surprised) :thumbsupdroid:
