I was wondering if anyone knew if and when the Tab 2 was getting JB 4.2?

I hope that Samsung releases the update soon enough. My 5133 runs 4.2 Cyanogenmod great without a hiccup.
I'm not holding my breath. To Samsung, the Tab 2 is "old history" and they are really bad about not upgrading or supporting older products. Note tablet is now in stores and Tab 3 will be coming soon so Tab 2 is probably not even on their mind list for upgrades anymore, at least for the WiFi versions.
I think you are too pessimistic. The Tab 2 is still the currently shipping product and Samsung has been pretty good about releasing updates for current products. They've already stated they would be releasing 4.2.2 for the tab 2.
Remember the 4.1.2 update just came out a couple months ago, so don't be surprised they didn't jump right on releasing a 2nd update this quick.

I would agree to see 4.2.2 stock rom for the tab 2 as well.. yes CM 10.1 is working flawlessly for me as well besides the lack of support ATM for my HDMI adapter by codeworkx issue supposed to help me with that I have be submitting logcats for him to hopefully work this out...I just hope when android 5 aka keylime pie rolls out we can see this version rolled out as well to this device. I love my tab 2 and don't plan on parting with it anytime soon.
