Android L

I would like to, but, I don't think we will. Unless we get a custom ROM. I think we're stuck with 4.4.2
 
It won't bug me if the LG Volt never get Android L.

I owned my LG Volt for 2 days now. I find it to be a really nice phone.
 
I didn't mean stuck in a bad way. 4.4.2 is great. But, I don't think we'll get more from LG.
 
all of the hardware we have with KK is compatible with L I would think but i love my volt too the way it is. I wish we could try cyanogenmod or slimRom with our phones someday as well :)
 
Would totally love to have slim rom on this device. Think about how much better battery life we could get with a custom kernel.
 
battery life is awesome already I have no issues with mine at all. I would love to run cm11 though. i wish the lg theme engine was more extensive . just changing icons is not themeing in my mind.
 
its ok but too many things to configure and add to make it work. thus using resources that arent available. I like how smooth the phone runs for me now. Affraid i may have multi tasking issues like the others are having.
 
Moto G is gonna get Android L so come one at least have a little faith that we are gonna get it (: Plus this phone is way more qualified for it.

I remember the lg rumour touch . It didnt even have android. Then i got the LG Optimus V . That was the little phone that could. I believe that they have 4.4 running on it.

Motorola Mobility is owned by Google. That's why they're getting android l. You can't compare the two companies. I know Motorola was sold to Lenovo but the sale isn't final until later this year. Google completely changed Motorola into a better, more efficient and affordable company. My 2 cents (I'm sure no one cares) you really want android l, when the moto g 2014 version comes to boost. Sell the volt and get that. You don't care about about android l keep the volt. Don't kill me but I'm being realistic. The LG Volt will not get android l. Between boost Mobile and LG it won't happen. Do some research on LG and their history of software updates for their phones, they're terrible with updates, they're only updating their flagship's, the g2 and g3. And boost Mobile, the boost Mobile Motorola G STILL hasn't gotten android 4.4.4 while every other company but Verizons moto g has. Seriously, Google "boost Mobile moto g 4.4.4 update". I just sold my moto g today, that update came out months ago, boost has said NOTHING about it. Also the volt skipped 4.4.4. It's still on 4.4.2. Not a good sign
 
there are NO major changes in the os for android L just ui changes. this version that we have is great. But i guess that comes from my many years on the lg opt v and the broke ass motorola triumph i had. 4.4.2 runs way smoother than anything i have had previously . Well except for the 4.1.2 i had on the LG Optimus f3 i had prior to the volt.

I didn't say there was any OS changes, (though your comment isn't true) with android l. I simply said boost Mobile doesn't care about updates and LG has a terrible software update history. They've already confirmed the g2 and g3 are getting it. They haven't said anything about any other models. I'm not trying to rain on anyone parade, I figure you guys should be prepared not to get it and be happy if you do vs. Waiting for it and being let down if you don't

There ARE major OS changes. ART, which is optional on kit katt will be the standard for android l, battery improvements like project Volta, interlocking apps, heads up notifications and finally if you know anything about Samsung KNOX, do some research and you'll see that's gonna be included in android l as well.

Right on wasnt aware. I had heard there wasnt. I am not going to be upset either way. Virgin Mobile doesnt care about updates either. I have never recieved an os update . I have had 5 different vm phones over the course of 8 years and not once did i ever get a update for the version of android i was running. I always had to root and rom

Me too. I guess that's why I upgraded. Everyone is different in how they use their phones, I'll admit I'm an android nerd. I fell in love with android in early 2011, been rooting and roming since April 2011 using a freaking LG Optimus s.

That was my first experience with android and LG and we were amongst the LAST phone to get the Gingerbread update (don't laugh, that's how long ago it was lol) I rooted it and put CM7 (they're on CM11 now lol) on it. The update was glitchy. Since then I've observed other carriers improve, Motorola is now amongst the fastest, Samsung is pretty quick, but they only care about their flagship's, HTC has gotten serious about their updates but, like Samsung, they only care about the One series. LG is dead last. They don't comment on updates as quickly as other manufacturers do, they don't give a lot of info or specifics like others do, and if there's bugs with the update, they don't address them like others do. That's what worries me with the volt. I'm telling you, my wife has a LG G2, their #1 flagship last year, Google "LG G2 android l update" and look how long it took them to confirm it and how little info is given and that was the only phone they cared about 6 months ago. Now that the G3 is out they only care about that. That's why I went OnePlus, get my updates right from Cyanogenmod, no carrier or manufacturer interference.

Sorry to rant, but as a android nerd I HATE how carriers and manufacturers play with updates. Google should handle it and take the control away. Manufacturers play marketing games. Samsung can't update the galaxy s4 and s5 at the same time because they WANT YOU TO BUY THE MORE EXPENSIVE S5. $600 vs $300. It's a sales game and it really pisses me off how these companies play with people who spend their hard earned $.
 
The LG Volt is a awesome phone. Even if they don't update the phone. Im sure some people will make a recovery and some roms for it at some point.
