Android Lag

Took me a minute to see your snide comment on the bottom of your post... I was thinking... HEY what is this dude smokin?!?!?!

Yay! ANOTHER reason NOT to give in and buy an iphone!
 
That's not really where 'Android' lag was evident to begin with. 2D graphics is what Android used to fall flat on. Hopefully ICS changes that.

When Android bashers have used the term, it has typically referred to stuttering or overall choppiness of the UI. Personally, my biggest gripe has always been the browser performance so I'm glad to see that's been adressed in ICS.

It is. The "Android lag" commonly refers to the stutters and delay on the UI, especially scrolling, or transition animations in general.

I get slight lag when scrolling the homescreens, not enough to put me off the phone though

I agree. I saw lag that looked similar to my GNEX.

Lag is annoying. Maybe it's because we are getting so used to things happening immediately. My desktop, laptop and work computer are all new (Windows 7) and I'm just used to fast processing. I do get annoyed at how slow the GNEX is sometimes but need to remember its 1/100 of the size. And also how slow phones USED to be.

I wish I could open the multi-tasker, select something else, and have it open immediately - like not even 1.5 seconds later. Heck, I want to press that button and have the list show up immediately - not 1/2 second later like it does.

It'll happen eventually and we'll look back on this and laugh.
 
I get lag when scrolling on homescreens or in app drawer from time to time, it is usually very minor. However, it is also often buttery smooth of the same stature as the mythical iphone. I've never seen buttery smooth behavior in android except in the recent crop of phones.

I am really tempted to say that there is zero doubt whatsoever that the nexus lags when compared to the iphone, but I've never used an iphone long enough (recently) to really judge. Anyways, the general consensus is that android is still not as polished as iOS, and I'd have to agree with that, hands down. That doesn't make iOS better in general though.

I'm curious, what about the rezound and razr and GSII or other top android phones of the past year... how does the GNex compare to those in the lag department?
