Android Live Scores

I'm excited to try the widget & see the UI changes! I hope to ditch ScoreMobile tonight and use Live Scores exclusively!

Just built the final version we're going to test a bit more during the NFL game starting in 20 minutes, if it looks good it will go out.

Been watching this thread for a while now....Had the app downloaded and just did the update. The widget looks good !!!! Keep up the good work !!!

just downloaded it. so you guys got the scrollable widget in this release after all!

i love love love the game details screen. great job. espn, sportstap, and scoremobile were all just uninstalled from my phone.

understood that its all in beta still. but app is a little choppy as far as loading the team logos in football. could just be my phone too. and the logos in the large widget, the top one always comes off bigger than the other. just some things right off the bat. nothing serious.

FANTASTIC JOB!!!!! keep it up

I really like the update, the Widgets both look great and I like the new look of the colors on the NFL page. Thanks for the update and keep up the great work.

First... great update!!! S couple of suggestions though ...

1. Add a who has the ball update for football games. (Widget)

2. Add down and distance. (Widget)

3. Make it possible to long press any game and add it to the widget only for that game cycle? (Widget)

The new nfl game display is simply awesome. I love both styles of widgets just wish there was a way to add non favorite games. Thanks for making this great app!!!!

Bug. In the hockey plays tab, it's only showing through the first period. I don't see any way to get plays after that.

The widget looks really nice. I really like the team icons. I'm wondering if there should be a way that it scrolls through your favorites automatically. Would that use up a lot more battery? Or, if i recall, I think the sportstap widget showed you the favorite who is playing next by default.

How do others think that should work?

Is there a changelog of any sort to see what was changed? Did that end of quarter/start of quarter notification wind up getting slipped in?

agree 100%. for example, the flyers don't play until saturday afternoon. the 76ers have a game tonight. the widget should automatically display the sixers game as the default game, because their game will be played before anyone else. thats about as clear as i can make it, but i think it should be this way.

i also am curious to see if the widget updates itself only when there is an alert, or will it update every 30 seconds, just as if you're inside the app itself?

Same question here.

I guess I'll find out tonight during the Knicks game.

Oh, since you are a Philly fan apparently....go Big Blue on Sunday! :)

Thanks for the compliments on the widget. My first real project on this small team of ours. Here are a few responses, and some notes:

If there's a game in progress, the widget updates every 2-3 minutes. If there's nothing in progress, we check back every hour.
Also, you can have multiple large widgets. I've got one for my favorite teams: Giants, Sharks, Warriors and 49ers. I've also got one for the horrific NFC West.

FlyersKid: we've seen an oddity on the old G1 where the away team widget is way larger than the small one. We let that one slide to get the release out. I'll take another look, but we don't have a Hero to test against.

benifactor: interesting ideas. I originally wanted to customize each widget to the sport. I'll take another look now that it's out. Not so sure about your long-press request.

lexluthor: I'm not thrilled about the scrolling widget. And yes, I fixed that end of quarter/start of quarter notification. Or at least I'm 99% sure I fixed it.

its really not a big deal to me, just letting you know. thanks for the tips on the widgets though. thats great that it updates itself even without alerts. just one question though...

is there supposed to be an easier way to customize the larger widget with teams, other then having to delete it and set it back up??? or am i missing something inside the application settings itself??

Thanks everyone! This widget is just version one, it will receive more attention in future versions as well as moving the styling on the NFL page to the rest of the app.

Now for a yahoo christmas party, then I'm off for the rest of the year!

Merry Christmas (or equivalent)

I don't disagree with that, but I think what flyerskid said makes sense. It should probably be the next game up that's displayed by default.

But then what happens if i scroll to a different game? Do you re-default me to the next game up after some period of time? Maybe after the game I manually selected is played, then it defaults to next game up?

What happens if I have my widget on the Giants football game and the Knick game starts tonight. Will the widget show me that game automatically or will it still be in the background since I selected the Giants game in my widget?

I don't recall what sporstap did exactly, but I know it was usually on the next game up.

You did a great job on how the widget looks.

Also, I didn't see anyone comment on the bug I pointed out. It's a pretty big one if you like hockey.

I noticed the hockey bug too. Also, in the standings, it shows by division and not by conference.

I really like the widgets. I may take the advice of someone up above and put multiple large widgets on my sports screen. That's an easy work around for showing a game that starts before another. Unless, of course, the widget defaults to whichever game starts first. ??

Great job, guys. I really like the way this is going. Can't wait to see the rest of the app get that nice look like the NFL page.

Merry Christmas, enjoy the time off. You have done a great job with this app so far and it is nice to have a developer that is working so well with the people using the app!

Looking forward to what this app brings in 2011

So, um, what is a widget exactly? And how are they playing into much of the discussion here?

Assuming this term isn't unique to Live Scores either.

A widget is something you place on a screen by long pressing and it updates automatically without opening the app.

Need some help.

I can get the small widget to work, but not the large. With the large I select teams and then press "all done" and everything disappears, but no widget.

Could someone tell me what I'm doing wrong.

I just added it a second time and it worked. I had the same problem the first time I tried to add it

Widget seemed to work pretty well tonight from what I can tell.

How exactly did you fix the end of quarter/start of quarter bug?

I did only get one notification tonight during the Knicks game between quarters. But the notification seemed to come at the beginning of the next quarter and the score, but the score wasn't necessarily the end of the quarter score if a few points were scored after the quarter started, but before the update came.

Perhaps the notification should be at the end of the quarter, not the start of the next?

Real minor stuff and I'm happy I'm not getting 2 notifications now, but just figured I'd throw it out there.

same thing here. when my alert sounds off, it even says that time has already elapsed into the next quarter. the score is correct, but it should be sent sooner (in between quarters).
