Android Live Scores

the widget for the mlb fav teams, shows "0:00 End 7th" ... theres no time in baseball. just a heads up before the season begins.
 
Interesting. I don't remember changing any widget code from last season, not sure why it'd be showing time now.

We aren't quite getting full feed data, so there might be an issue in there. I'll take a look.

I'm still not sure it's giving me start of game notifications. Anyone else notice that? That's been an issue with notifications for me since the start.

I get them, but they're really late. Probably about 5-10 minutes after the game starts, depending on what league it is. I know that the NBA "after quarter" alerts come about 3 minutes into the actual next quarter.


**WIDGET GUY

I also noticed that tonight's 76ers' game started at 7pm. It was 7:40 when i checked the widget, but it had still been showing that the game hadn't started yet. I even scrolled through the widget just to see if it had to refresh, and still no luck. When I tapped the widget to open up the app altogether, then backed out back to my home screen, the widget had updated to correct state of the game AND stayed updating for the rest of the night. Not sure if it's supposed to be that way or not....
 
I too have to open the app to get the Widgets to update after games start.

Also both NASCAR races this weekend the widget or the in app updates didn't work. The widget never even loaded race results.
 
Sorry guys, the game-start notification is sent when we receive a game-status update indicating the game has started. Sometimes games start late and sometimes games start on time but we don't get feed for a few minutes after the game has started.

Might be able to do something to send an alert at the time the game is "supposed to start" regardless of whether or not we've received an update. But that could be quirky... You'd get a gamestart notification but the game would still say, pre-game.

FYI - Planning a push soon. Purely cosmetic but I think you'll like it. It's a restyle for the game details for most of the leagues. Style follows what you've seen for NFL, plus some other bits... You can thank the Widget-Guy for the styling update.

Facebook support should be coming out in the following release, I'm working on that now.

Release is planned for this week, keep an eye out!

one thing that reallly needs to be looked at before this next release is the widget. i dont know why, but its not updating for me. the phillies played today at 1. and the games over but still shows the pre-game. if i tap on the game it brings me to the game details screen, but it still shows the pre game stuff.

but when i back out, and go into the app by tapping just the shortcut icon, it gives me the correct score and information. im not sure if its doing this just because its spring training and info is limited. but just a heads up.

EDIT: and i was also still getting alerts for the same game

We definitely won't be able to look at the widget for this release as we're hoping to push it out tomorrow. We will definitely spend some time on it next release.
 
Looks like our widget is hitting a buggy endpoint on our server. It's not returning data of any value, which explains the current bugginess in it. We're having someone take a look at it, and if they get it fixed won't require any code changes (or so i hope).

And the new game details pages are sick. I haven't gotten to plays/scoring/stats tabs yet, but they'll be coming in due order.

Widget-guy made a liar out of me... Apparently we will look at it before this release. ;)
 
Trying again .......

Any chance of having a per team or at least per sport notification icon? If you have multiple games going on, it'd be helpful to be able to look at the notification bar and know which game the update is for right away. I know one if the other competing apps has that.

Possibly per sport, but not per team.
I'll add this to the suggestion box.
 
Well, unfortunately our first priority has been defined as "catching up with the features on iPhone Sportacular." After we reach that goal, I think we have some more freedom.

And I didn't expect per icons, but why not shoot high? Per sport icons would be really nice.

We still have a few sports to add, facebook chat and check-in, styling.
Still a ways to go.

We can't do per team because the notification icon needs to be "Live Scores." While it may be possible to have a Live Scores icon with a small basketball or baseball, etc. It would be impossible to create a Live Scores icon for every team. And I wouldn't want to show only the team logo as the icon because that could easily be confused with another app using the team logo.

do you think that we can get team schedules incorporated into the app eventually. or some feature that downloads the schedule to our google calendar? just a thought.

Yes, definitely! The team schedule is already on my todo list. Adding to calendar could happen, but I'd have to look into that more.

The schedule would be awesome especially if you could sync the schedule to the calendar and it would automatically update with changes in game times due to flex scheduling (NFL)

Also a calendar widget would be GREAT. Just like a 4x4 widget with the whole season that displayed upcoming games and final scores for completed games, just like those season schedule posters in bars :D
