agreed. within the widget, there could be a button where we could even switch leagues or fav teams and be able to change the date. would work beautiful for the NFL.

maybe we could even add TV channels on the scores overview pages...would make it easier for finding out which channels are on.

also, just one more thing, the NHL and NBA playoffs are coming...we need a conference seeding screen, not one that just shows the division standings. the NHL also needs a "streaks" and "last 10" just like all the other sports... stop hating on hockey. haha

Cool, because i just started hitting widget update problems yesterday. The scores posted are from a couple of days ago. It still shows yesterday's games as the "next game". The widget seems to think the date is either March 6th or 7th.

Yep that's the bug. It's a server issue and they're looking into it. Once fixed, the widget will just magically start working again, no need for a release.

Thanks. Hopefully it will be soon. Also with the update i see a minor problem. There is overlap on the "Details" tab. Please see the screenshot. Game score is overlapping with the TV/Radio schedule.

EDIT: I'm looking at this on my Droid X w/ Android 2.2 and it looks fine for me... Weird.
 
i also have a samsung phone. its the epic running 2.2 though, so they have to be similar to a point...right??? but i dont see the problem.

not sure if the phones are different or not... just trying to help

EDIT: could be an issue with 2.1? maybe?

i have a quick request...

if possible, do you think we could squeeze a player news tab into the app. i know sportstap uses rotowire for goalie matchups for the NHL and injury news within all the leagues. any chance we can get something like that incorporated?? or would that be too tricky?

Definitely not tricky and is a good idea. We'd just need a news feed. Gotta talk to the guys that sign my paycheck about that.

I'll add it to the suggestion box.
 
On my phone it seems to be caused by the placement of the tv schedule/line/over-under. If i go to an upcoming game that has not been played (and therefore no score), the tv schedule line slightly overlaps the team logo.

If that was moved down under the standing, e.g "2nd pacific, 1st pacific" in the screenshot i provided, it would take care of the issue.

However i'm not sure why the other phones don't show it. As FlyersKid mentioned could be that i'm running 2.1.
 
my girlfriend has the app on her phone, that is also running 2.1. when i see her when she gets off work, ill have her check to see.

The fields in that view use relative anchors which should place the fields below the images, not sure why that's being ignored on your phone. Are you running cyanogen or other phone mod?

I'm running a custom ROM (jt's superclean v.9) for the Fascinate. I've never had an issue like this for any other app and i've had the same ROM for many many months.

Edit: Don't know why i never thought of this. My wife has the same phone but stock. Let me install the app on her phone and report back. Should've thought of this sooner :o
 
Just noticed a couple things during today's UNC/Miami game.

1. Never got the game start notification until I opened the app a couple minutes after the game started.

2. When I got the Final score notification it said the final was 59-59. There was a game winning shot with 5 sec left to make it 61-59 at the end of regulation. Eventually the score did update, but was just incorrect for the notification.
 
just something ive noticed over the past few hours. according to the application (both inside and the widget) the phillies have games @ 1:05 today (final) and also at 8 pm tonight vs the astros. but the astros are currently already in a game vs the nationals. hahahaha

also if you move on to the next day (3/12/2011) the phillies play the rays and the pirates, both at 1:05 et.

i know the phillies are good enough to take on two different teams at the same time, but come on!!!!




EDIT: its not just the phillies, if you look the same thing happens with other teams too....and its only with the MLB section.

Those are correct. They are preseason "split squad" games. It's funny to see 2 games going on at the same time for your favorite team.

Ok just checked on the wifes phone. Same issue is happening on her stock 2.1 Fascinate.
 
Today I turned on my TV to find out that Carolina was playing and it was almost halftime. I never got any alerts. I have Carolina marked as a favorite team and all alerts enabled. In the game screen under the "alerts" tab nothing was checked. I have attached some screen shots.

Were you in a WiFi/3G deadspot?

If your phone is running low on resources, the Android OS will kill background services to make room for higher priority tasks. Going back into the app will restart the service, however if you're phone is still low on resources, it will likely get killed again soon.

Case #3
Otherwise, if the above two cases don't fit, there's always the possibility that we didn't get an update (or maybe it was late) from our providers.

We are planning two make use of the new server push features that Android OS 2.1 provides which will eliminate Case #2, but this is probably a few releases down the road.
