Ok, so tonight is the night.

Also, using a competitor to get my notifications reminded me to reiterate a request I had. Having different icons for different sports in the notification bar is really nice. One step more and using favorite team icons would be amazing, but I don't know how difficult either would be.

The different icons is really great when you are following games in different sports at the same time. That's a pretty common thing too.

I'd hope that could be added eventually.

I remember this request, it is in our queue. We would like to add sport-specific icons for alerts, but team specific icons probably wont happen - too much work as the images need to be created by hand and there are too many teams.

I figured that team would be tough. Especially since you can both follow games and teams. If you are just following a game, which team's icon would you display? I'm sure it brings up other similar issues.

Anyhow, alert icons specific to the sport would be a very welcome addition. It's google scoreboard that does that if you want to take a look.

There was an issue and it turns out the code did not go live. I've been working hard all day today to get it on the server but I failed. The fix should go up sometime tonight but not in time to fix tonight's alerts.

You're thinking of the app update. That's different from the server update.

I didn't get notifications for the mets either last night or today.

The server should be fine. The only thing I can think of is that we changed slightly how the device stores your alert subscriptions. It could be that there's a rare bug where it can't find alerts you subscribed to before the last update? Try clearing the app data. You can do this from Android->settings->manage applications->Live Scores->clear data. Or you can uninstall the app and then install it again.

I haven't heard any other complaints, you might want to just wait and see if it happens again. Have you gotten any mets games since you updated the app?

i had the same problem. except i was subscribed to the lightning game. its 3-1 and ive got nothing for it.

i reset my phone and had reinstalled the app not too long ago. ill try and reset those settings that you mentioned above.

It tried contacting the server directly and it doesn't seem to thing games are going on. Team alerts nor Game alerts. I've sent an email off to the higher ups that manage that server. Hopefully they'll know more. Sorry guys.

No updates again today.

I've been a pretty big supporter of this app, but, I must admit, I'm just about done here. I used it mainly for the notifications and it's probably been a good month since they've been reliable.

To ensure this doesn't happen again, we're going to set up a monitoring system that can let us know that alerts are down. We also have a backup server waiting, so if the system goes down, we can switch over to it, hopefully before you realize anything has happened.

i have just a SLIGHT issue. It's cosmetic with the widget, and its only sometimes. Sometimes, where the widget displays, "Bot 1st" ,"Top 1st", "End 1st" ... etc sometimes it cuts off the bottom part of the text. Its almost as if its too big.

Like I said, it only happens sometimes. Which leads me to a question, how can I take a screen shot the next time it happens so I can better show you what I'm talking about??

I see this sometimes but I always forget about it. It should be fixed in the next release.
