You can remove the ads. Root your phone and install AdFree Android. That is what I do because I hate ads. But, if I like an app and there is a paid version I ALWAYS buy the paid version. I just refuse to have ads in my apps.

I'm noticing some times the widget will show Bot 0th instead of the time for a game that has not started yet. Is this a known issue?

Same. I was just coming to post that.

Mets game showed that around 3pm today and the game doesn't start until 7pm.

I think if you go into the scores page too, it also looks like the game has started, so I don't think it's a widget issue.

Yeah it was the Mets for me as well. After looking again it's showing the wrong team as well. The widget is showing Mets/Braves Bot 0th but we are playing the Pirates today not the Braves.

Us Mets fans already suffer enough as it is :P
 
Something is definitely screwed up with the data.

Since the Mets game ended yesterday, the widget shows mets/braves at 0-0 in Bot 0th.

Sorry for the delay. There were some issues we had to iron out - still in QA but hopefully not for much longer.

As for the Widget data issue, that issue resides on the server and can be taken care of without a release/update. They're working on it.
 
I'm having the same issue that's been stated above. The Yankees are scheduled to play the Red Sox at 7 pm, but the widget is showing Yankees - Orioles in the top of the 0th.

I love this app, I hope the issue is fixed soon.
 
Releasing 1.6.0 finally after a 3 week delay. I updated the notes in the first post.
Let me know what you think of the new features.
 
Like having a scores page with just my favorites. Already made that my default page.

Still trying to see what trending is. Is that king of like a thuuz reading?

Team pages should be nice.

What's the thing in the market notes about check in game?

Anything else we should know about?

What's next :)
 
I just set my default page to favorites and I noticed that if I click on any of the tabs other than "Today" it just says "no games found." Is this just something you need to update on your end?

Other than that, I like the changes so far. Still waiting to be able to change the alert sound though, even if I have to use root explorer to edit a file :D
 
im not sure that it matters now, as this is the last game of the season, but on the widget on the vancouver game just says '3rd'.

also, ive said this before, i dont like the way the news is given to me. id like to read the article text within the app itself. PLEASE dont take me to a browser. Its annoying because the text doesnt automatically fit onto my screen when i zoom in on the page.

and playoff seedings are going to be a must in the next sport that goes into playoffs. this includes a series score (ex. PHI leads LA 3-2) and also conference standings for NHL / NBA. not just division. im sure that stuff is in the works, but are the ONLY things im missing from this being my go-to application.
 
I don't use the news section, but I agree that I don't like when an app like that takes me to my browser.

I'm sure it's a lot more work to render in the app.though

We do have plans to clean up the news bit. We want to have the news article formatted nicely that is not a webpage.
 
Trending Games are those with the most check-ins on Android and iOS. Not sure that it goes across any of our other sites.

So you can see what's most popular right now. You'll see more popular cities start bouncing up to the top closer to game time.

Great work once again! I setup alerts for all teams when a game goes into extra innings and shootouts so that request of mine is taken care of. Now if we can just get a widget to show all scores of a sport(s) instead of only favorites that'd be my #1 request.

Adding the starting pitcher next to the teams in the widget before a game starts would be cool too. Maybe add the odds/spread in this place for other sports like NFL, NBA, NCCAF/B, NHL?
 
was on vacation this weekend, so i was using the app to keep up. ive got nothing bad to report. great update. alerts were very good, got them before my brother got his ESPN texts!!! now thats an accomplishment!!!
 
I just got my iPad 2 over the weekend, and I have to say the Android app is a lot better than the iPad version, great job to the android sportacular devs!!

I love the look of the application and the detail of the information within the application itself. But the lack (and if it is currently possible I can't find out how to do it) of the above widget functionality is keeping me from using it exclusively.

I personally could not care less about favorite teams (I can't be alone in this regard I wouldn't imagine). I would love to just see ALL scores scroll in the widget for any sport that I have chosen to put into the widget.

Please consider adding this widget functionality. Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure I understand why. The functionality is already there within the widget to display scores for favorite teams. Why not just enable all scores to be scrolled through on the widget instead (or in addition via an option)?

You say why not just open the application. Kinda defeats the purpose of having the convenience of a widget.
