Root android market app missing!

I have no clue where it went when I downloaded another apk it said I'd have to replace the old one but its not there and it does not install the new one what could be my issue
I'm on CM7.2@710MHz if that helps

It sounds like you didn't flash GAPPS when you installed CM7.2
This needs to be done in order to get the ANDROID MARKET back on your phone. See the sticky HANDY ASCEND DOWNLOAD LINKS or ULTIMATE ASCEND CUSTOMIZATION GUIDE for the link to the latest GAPPS.

I have an optimistic v and I am running cm7, flashed gapps and have had android market on my phone for over a month. Today, I dropped my phone, the battery popped out and I restarted. My phone with no problems. The market is gone. I noticed that a couple other apps were gone but I restored them. I'm just curious how or where the app went and how to get it back. I know I am in the wrong phone forum, but I figure this pertains to a general bunch. Any solution? I also didn't want to start a new forum based on the same issue. Thanks

Anything I try to add like before it just says file not found.

The file is there but when I click to install via sd card it says not there.

Yeah, there are certain apps that are kept right next to the contacts on the battery. Jerky battery removals can cause them to slip out of the battery contacts. If you look carefully, you can usually see them on a smooth floor or table. But if you lose them in a carpet, they're good as gone.
