Android Market unupdated...

So here's the deal...

I have a stock Captivate, and before the Froyo update the Market had the green navigation menu at the top that was rounded and such. You know the one.

Then, immediately after Froyo, it went to a more streamlined gray navigation style. It was faster and easier to use. I liked it.

A few minutes ago I opened up the Market app to peruse what was new and it was back to the old style green menu. I restarted and everything...still there.

Anyone else notice this? Am I the only one?

EDIT: The Market version currently listed is 2.3.3

I have noticed market 2.3.3 to run much faster since putting 2.2 on my phone. It seems alot of people had older versions of the market after upgrading but the market does eventually update to the newer version.

But why would it update with 2.2, then seemingly deupdate back to the old look?

I found this as well the first time I opened the Android Market. Mine did a force close and then when I reopened I was back to the new version. (2.3.3)

after updating to the official froyo on the captivate, some people have noticed that their market defaults to the old style. If it doesn't update on its own in a day or two, people have had to "clear data" in "manage applications".

I tried clearing data, force closing it, restarting... I don't know what else I can do with it. I just want it back to the good Market, darn it.

This is happening to me too...not on froyo yet..read a post that said to go to market under applications, uninstall updates, give it a minute, open market, accept, close, wait a few minutes open and close it again and it should be good.others said that worked for them..HOWEVER...this did not work for me...any other suggestions?

If youre on the market with the rounded green top, that is the new market. some people seem to have been confused on that so thought i would clarify. and if you have the old market, with the grey separate tabs at the top, it will update itself eventually.

and if you are still on the old market, how long have you had your phone and did you ever have the new one?

Really?! The other one looked so much more futuristic and crisp!..I'm kind of dumb when it comes to this...any way you could tell me what those version numbers are when you go into the market under applications in settings? Mine is 2002306 is that the old or new one?

Oh and I've had my phone for about six months, but the green background for the market of what I had...is it possible I've been on the new one all along? But didn't this just come out? Boy do I feel stupid if that's the case!

i dont see any number like that but i have version 2.3.6

Yeah, the same thing happened to everyone who updated their Cappies from 2.1 to 2.2--unfortunately (like CrimsonPride pointed out), the grey looking market is actually the old one, and the green one is the new market (the one we used the whole time on Eclair was the new one).

There's are little tricks (like babs1921 pointed out) that you can use to get your phone back on the cleaner / older android market, but to my knowledge, it eventually re-updates itself automatically.
