uninstall the drivers than re install the driver than plugin your phone, but firstgo to device manager and delete Android 1.0...

when I go to the device manager after doing what you said, I still see exclamation marks. still a problem

did you unplug the phone first before un installing and re installing the drivers, if so did a pop up box come up to install drivers?

It is saying in the device manager that my android mobile adapter is not installed. the drivers did install. I did all that you said.

Now I need a clean file of the USB driver because when I tried to install it in recovery it came up as a bad file. Please test it so I know

download and extract this to desktop and run pc option to un install and re installthe drivers to pc, than plug in the phone and see what happens. ascend usb drivers.rar
That .rar file has the USB driver so that when I plug my Huawei M860 in my laptop, I can transfer files from the sd card, but it still does not recognize my phone as a device and says I need an "android mobile adapter" driver. I recently installed CM7 and learned that in the process, there was an internal memory partition on the phone that was erased that must have contained the particular driver that I need and I can find it no where. My problem is I want to run PC Tools but when I launch the program, it doesn't recognize my phone as a connected USB device. Doesn't matter about the SD card, it needs the phone in order to access SMS. Guess I'm stuck unless I want to revert back to stock ROM.

tried that as well. it does get rid of the yellow "Android Mobile Adapter" exclamation marks, but that's about it. When I go into the android modem that shows up in device manager and click on the modem diagnostic test, it fails. I installed the Huawei Tools and Huawei Suite but my phone is never able to be recognized either via USB or wireless (the Huawei Suite apparently can operate through your wireless network but some of that was over my head). I had some hope the Huawei Suite was going to work there for a bit, but there's an app called Huawei Suite Daemon .apk that needed to be installed on my phone and I stuck it on the SD card but it wouldn't install. Just got the "install failed" error. I wish I had tried some of this stuff before I installed CM7 so I could have seen if it worked while I was still using a stock ROM, but I didn't. There's just seems to be something missing that lets my computer know that I have a phone plugged in and not this generic "removable media" stuff. I do remember prior to the CM7 install, when I had my phone plugged into my laptop, I would get an E drive that said "Huawei M860" which showed the contents of the phone's internal memory and an F drive for the phone's SD card, but now the only thing I get is the SD card.

You might be able to get the suite to work if you just take that .apk file you mentioned, and copy it to the /system/app directory, then reboot the phone.
Are you pulling down the notification bar and (after clicking the notification about USB) clicking the button to enable USB Storage on the phone? This is a necessary step in CM7, which should make your SD card show up on the PC. Forgive me if you've already done that, but I do want to be sure to cover the bases.

My SD card shows up on fine on the PC -- that has never been an issue, it is the internal memory on my phone that I cannot get to show up. Example: I cannot copy the Huawei Suite Daemon .apk to the /system/app directory because I cannot access that directory it via USB (it is actually ON the phone, correct?). And when I go into File Manager and click on the .APK on my SD card and select "MOVE" it will only let me move it to another location on the SD card. I give up!

If you're using Root Explorer, you'll have to navigate to the /system/app directory and then click the R/W button to mount it as writable, since by default it is set as R/O (read only). I user Root Explorer almost exclusively, so I'm not too familiar with other root file managers, but in any case, the /system directory has to be writable to be able to move the file there.
