The latest update to the Android N Developer Preview added something new that can be found while digging through the settings menus.
When going through Settings -> Apps -> Configure apps -> Special Access, you'll find what Google is calling VR Helper Services. Android N seems like it will let apps designate if they are a "VR Listener" or "VR Helper."
