android native SIP for cheap voip phone calls

hey everyone, so iv been using my notei717 for months now and im loving it! such a cool phone and now iv decided to sign up with a voip internet phone service to make phone calls. its a great way to phone call over the net for cheap, i suggest looking it up. so have any of you used any good apps for making voip phone calls? apparently android phones running 2.3 or higher should have a built in native SIP program. which basically means its an app to handle your voip phone calls. but i cant seem to find it in my note anywhere in the settings. i heard that android deleted it from another galaxy phone because of those big evil phone corporations putting pressure on android. hopefully not but thats what iv heard. .

As far as I know the Note does not have a SIP native feature. So when I travel outside of the US or in an area with no reception but with WiFi, I use SipDroid w/Google Voice; (get a phone number free from Google Voice), the install sipdroid, when it opens click the create a free PBxes account to your google voice and it does the rest. There is a slight delay while talking but at least it is 100% free

yea i dont think they do either. thanks for replying and im using a canadian voip service and am using sipdroid and there pretty good so far. good quality calls but i only just starting using it. i do have a google account number so ill have to try using that on there too.

so im going to try and hook up my google voice tommorow. but im wondering how you did it through the sip droid app? just to let you know im technically a canadian but i still managed to get a american google voice number. i cant seem to download the google voice app on my phone maybe cuz i live in canada and i think its for americans. i think
google talk is canada. But yea back to the sip droid, when i go to the options it says PBxes features but its only extra options, nothing to configure a google account. but within the sipdroid settings there is a option for line 1 and line 2. i already have line 1 filled out for my voip service, which includes password and server name. So im wondering if line 2 cancbe used for google?

Here this message explains my situation a bit more detail.

Hey man thanks for the reply about using sipdroid. i am trying to get my google voice account on it but it wont work. i live in canada so i had to take an alternative route to getting google voice, because canada has google talk and it has alot of limitations. you cant even receive calls with google talk. so i had to get a american home number which i got for free then created google talk account and i can make phone calls on my computer. the thing is though my smartphone wont allow me to download google talk probably cuz my phone is canadian and im assuming that my phone has a canadian ip address so it wont allow the american google app. but im wondering if i can still get this to work.
