Apps Android newbie - struggling to install x86 atom image

Hi

downloaded and installed Intel haxm as well as downloaded x86 atom emulator to speed up eclipse (& hopefully android studio) IDE.
For the life of me cant figure out *what directory location* to unpack the emulator. It refuses to show up in AVD.

Any help will be appreciated...

If you are using Eclipse and installed the x86 system image using the Android SDK Manager then just create an AVD with that image and then run the emulator on it.

To install HAXM go to your dev directory then sdk\extras\intel\Hardware_Accelerated_Execution_Manager
