Android on i386 Touchdisplay-device

Hi everybody!

I would like to install Android on an i386 touchdisplay-device:
Logic Supply - Leaders in Mini-ITX & Small Form Factor Solutions

I tried to boot "Android x86 1.6 r2" from
Downloads
but the window effects are quite slow and the touch panel does not work.

Are there any ways to install actual Android versions on i386 devices, especially on intel atom systems?

I'm interested in this as well. I've got some clients who are pitching some older touch screen devices. I'd love to play with them and put Android on them.
