Whenever I see or hear someone talk about this issue it seems it's always Samsung and Marshmallow.

Mobile data is on, according to the attached screenshots. ;)

yeah, I was just going to mention that myself....

with 5.1.1 you have to turn it off Manually from the Notification Panel or a shortcut in Settings.

I'm quite familiar with that, as I always leave Data turned OFF unless there is a real need for it....
My WiFi goes on and off with the screen awake/asleep with the help of a macro.

We all read things and don't absorb what he intends :)

I don't trust any app to do only what I want it to. I just went back and looked at Post #1, and he thinks that DATA is turned off for Gphotos, but I bet it isn't doing what he wants it to.

I manually turn off data, period and I leave it off, unless there is a real need for it.
My family of 3 in a normal month uses less than 1 gB/month, we have not gone over 0.88 gB/month in almost a year.

We never use DATA for streaming anything, no videos. The worst thing we do is look at Facebook sometimes.
for me, it is forums, and that is pretty much a Text Oriented environment and my personal use is less than 0.3 gB/month on data.

We have a decent WiFi router giving us 14 mbps downloads, and use public WiFi when available.

So you guys said that this is a rather common issue with Samsung Marshmallow devices. Has anyone found a fix?
