Help Android OS using unusual amounts of data

Yes, I'm new here..
I'm really not sure if this belongs in this section, but this section corresponds with my phone model, so lemme just get to the details.

I have issues with how much mobile data the Android OS uses up. Within only 2 weeks, it uses up about 1.8 GB of data and that makes up over 90% of what I've used this month. I only use my network for web browsing, youtube, etc. That consisted of only 385MB. I'm just wondering why Android OS is using such immense amounts of data like that.
To clarify, I have auto-synch off and I only turn on my 3G on when necessary. Any other time it's off.
My current firmware is Android v4.04.
Service provider: Boost Mobile

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you sure this is a ZTE Warp N860? As far as the large data consumption, sounds like something is constantly running in the background, check your apps, in settings and see whats using the phone the most.:)

ICS on our N860? We only have GB and JB, unless you're using an ICS/JB themed rom like mine, but that still GB... I've heard of that happening on Boost Mobile phones, though, and with what you say you're doing on the phone, I don't see how thats possible... try using "My Data Manager", its an app on the Play Store that can monitor data usage for you. "Onavo Count" is another great one. Use it, and if they warn you about throttling you soon, and the data usage in the app doesn't match up with enough to throttle you, then I would go to a Boost store and explain the situation. Its never happened to me though, I've only ever been throttled once...

EDIT: Oops, I feel rude...

Yes, I'm sure. It shows the model in the battery compartment. I've restricted background data use on all my apps. Only thing using less data than the OS is chrome, which only goes as far as 750MB in a month. Everything else is less than 10MB combined.

I'll try that out and see the outcome after i check the data statistics again in a few days. I don't think I'll get bugged about throttling though. Thanks for the welcome BTW: :)
