Android Phone 7 Theme

I have the motorola Atrix and i tried using the 480x800 resolution but the atrix resolution is 540x960 if i am correct and the widgets do not fit perfectly so if anyone else has an atrix mind posting the sizes cause i do not know how to take screen shots. cause some apps do not work for the atrix (ex. shoot me)

Yes, if anyone else has a device with this resolution, run the tests, and then post screenshots I can figure it out.

The width should be pretty simple. See the link above to figure it out based on your homescreen layout. For example, if you're keeping it at the standard 4-columns, then just take the 540, subtract 40 for the [standard] 10-pixel gap between widgets and 5-pixel gap around the perimeter of the screen, and divide by 4 [columns]: 125-pixels wide per image.

The height is a bit tricky without knowing the height of the dock and the notification bar. Needless to say, without some tests and screenshots, it won't be easy to figure this one out.

If you wanna give a few instructions to an Android noob (but tech savvy vet) I'm willing to help taking screenshots for the Atrix. Just got mine yesterday and I'm looking forward to using this theme.

Hi people. I'm new here. I was happy to find this forum and especially this topic because my phone was totally transformed :D So, i started to make my own pictures in adobe photoshop. Hi everyone!

I was wondering if anyone could help out with 2 things, the first one being, how do you rearrange or reposition the order of homescreens with launcher pro plus?

Secondly, I was wondering if any setting could be changed to allow the OneSeven weekdays to appear between the clock and the widget.

Thanks in advance :)

There is no way to move or rearrange homescreens in LauncherPro (unlike ADW). The only way to rearrange homescreens is to manually move each widget/icon from one homescreen to another.

Secondly, I was wondering if any setting could be changed to allow the OneSeven weekdays to appear between the clock and the widget.

I'm not sure about this one. OneSeven doesn't seem to have any customization options. Might have to hit up another thread for this one.

@yohobojo
It's the 5-row settings that caused it to be off-centred so I can't really reposition it as you suggested, but thanks for answering :))

@paulmz
I wonder if Launcher Pro will come up with a solution for that. At least I know for now that doesn't work.

Thanks for helping out! :o

No problem. Just an FYI, though... I haven't tried it myself yet, but I have had others tell me that this theme and icon dimensions work fine in ADW with similar settings. Maybe worth trying if you still want an easy way to rearrange homescreens.

I'm not entirely sure what the question is, but if you mean adding the gray bar at the bottom of the image with a text label, you need image editing software to do that (ie. Adobe Photoshop or GIMP).

I thought that I wrote a pretty good tutorial on the subject: Creating Image Labels in Photoshop.

If you have any further questions, please read Post 1 and it's respective links thoroughly.

This is why I went through the trouble of figuring everything out down to the pixel and posting it for everyone to use. This is one of the first layouts I saw that was drastically different than the standard "here's a widget, here's an icon, here's my wallpaper" layout. It can make each screen completely different and unique- like having separate wallpapers per screen. And it can be entirely personal depending on the images you use. I have seen others use movie images, comic strips, solid-color shapes with no image...

The best thing about using a "theme" like this is that it doesn't require any hardcore changes to the device. There's no rooting, modding, or ROMs. It's just: install a new launcher, download some icons (or make your own), place widgets on the desktop... done.

I don't know... maybe it's the graphic designer in me that likes a UI that goes beyond cute little icons.

But then again... I do like some simplistic icon layouts. Here's an example of what I'm working on now:

We'll see how this one works out.

This is AMAZING! It looks like Star Trek and it's EXACTLY what I've been wanting for my Ally!
I can haz??:D

can someone please make me a 2x1 icon for the market (with a picture of a droid/milestone on it?)and a 4x1 for the game pocketgod, that would be great, thanks a lot and thanks to paulmz for this awesome thread :D

Wow, I really like this WP7 look! Does anyone have any ideas how to fit Launcher Pro widgets (People and Facebook being most important) and Agenda widget (or something similar) into WP7 theme? I don't know anything about theming, so I could use some help. I love how your themes look, but I love my widgets even more!

Finally my Android Phone homescreens are done. This is really hard work as I'm just trying to learn how to use Photoshop. All ideas are "borrowed" from this thread, thanks to all and specially for paulmz for all the hard work on this thread. Feel free to comment.

PS. I'm still in need of icons for games, any idea where to get small white icons for games?
I made some resizing with the pictures and added an extra 1 pxl-edge to images so when you press the widget it will be highlighted as the 1 pxl-edge is in the image.

The correct image sizes for 5-column 8-row gridsize are:
1x1: 86x79
2x2: 182x168
3x1: 278x79
4x1: 374x79
4x2: 374x168

Here are the images for 480x800 screens:
WP7 by kkoff
(The .zip contains also the PSD-files so you can easily make your own widgets, PSD-files contains almost all images and also different colours for background!!!)

Paulmz Silentmode Widget with resized images:

---INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE---
Images will only work with LauncherPro as it is the only app launcher that lets you modify the Homescreen grid for 5-column and 8-row (so far as I'm aware of).

-Homescreen Grid must be set for 5-columns & 8-rows
-Auto-fit Items must be used (for some reason widget will overlap if it is not used)
-No notifications/status bar
-You will also need the paulmz SMS unread Tile Widget if you want the notifications to work:

PS. Use with your own risk although I don't know if there is any risks at all. :)

Theoretically, no, you don't need LauncherPro to do this theme. But... and this is a pretty big but...

All of the dimensions, icons, and widgets in this thread are based on using LauncherPro and, more importantly, using a 4-column by 5-row homescreen- which (I'm pretty sure) Sense can't do.

I could, of course, just ask what your attachment is to Sense? I am actually really glad that this theme helped me ditch Sense. I personally don't think HTC's widgets are worth using it.

However, to each their own. Desktop Visualizer works with Sense, but you would have to create all new custom icons that would be the correct size for Sense's layout. Might be more of a hastle than it's worth.

If you need any help, though... let us know.

I like sense as well. That means I'll have to create my own pictures.
Could you write what would be the right dimensions for Sense? 1x2, 1x3 etc.
I'm using Desire HD.

Thanks.

Paulmz, thank you so much for all your help!

I know it was awhile ago that we were communicating over messages, but I just wanted to extend my thanks again for your time and energy.

I like black backgrounds as they save energy
:p

Okay... here's the best I could come up with:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Without being able to adjust the rows, Sense uses a 36-pixel vertical spacing as opposed to it's 10-pixel horizontal spacing. To compensate I adjusted the image sizes so that there is the same pixel spacing around all images.

1x1: 84 x 140
1x2: 84 x 316
1x3: 84 x 492
1x4: 84 x 668
2x1: 204 x 140
2x2: 204 x 316
3x1: 324 x 140
3x3: 324 x 492
4x1: 444 x 140
4x4: 444 x 668

Please note that these dimensions are based using HTC's stock launcher (Sense) on a device with a resolution of 480x800.

Hope this helps!
