Android Picture Frame

I use the Android Picture Frame for my home screens (pictures of my nieces and nephews) but it seems that every time I power cycle my phone (I do that once a day) the picture is lost and the frame is a small white square. I keep thinking it will search for the picture that was there and replace it, but never does, and I end up replacing the picture myself. Anyone know what is wrong?

Oh, I power cycle my phone because for some reason, I don't receive texts if I don't do that....

Do you save your scenes after you create them?
