Help Android process "acore" has stopped

Android Enthusiast
I recently had my phone start giving this error message. I can't access any contacts or make a phone call. I've tried all the fixes suggested, clearing data in contacts storage and so on. Nothing stops this error from occurring, I need some help to get this fixed.

I have an LG L70 rooted, I've had a problem recently with root only working on a few apps and not working on others. I did a factory reset and while rooted and now this error message won't stop coming up. I can't make any calls or access my contacts, I've tried all teh fixes I saw mainly clearing contacts data and contacts storage data but none of these helped.

Is there anyone who knows what I can do to get this fixed short of buying a new phone, I can't bring it into Metro because its rooted. I have Titanium B/U pro and Root Explorer pro installed as well. I've googled and tried several fixes but nothing has worked so far.

What did u do, Right before u noticed, it not WORKING?

No offence. (You cant receive proper advice) by writing vague description of the error message, U NEED HELP with.

Questions to ask yourself.
What system apps did u remove?
What mods, edits, did u apply to phone?

You say no No calls. phone/contacts/acting up

u probably deleted vital system apps.

Basically all Lg system apps are holding hands, with each other.(Google2) and when you break the circle, things fall apart.
When phone's rebooted.

Go into
settings/general/about phone/status
You should see
ur phone#, IMEI#
Are they ZEROED OUT hopefully you see ur # zeros are bad.

Try and describe ur problem better. U can't expect, any one to read that post. and even know where to begin helping u.

If you did delete system .apk/.odex?

Did u at least back them up to ur external SD card? If yes, Check the permission's of the apps u copy back to system folder.

when moving system .apk/.odex back from SD card. the permission's, need to be changed back. Both the .Apk and the .odex file

To change permissions
use a file manager with root.

copy both the apk and odex from SD card into systems folder change the permission there,

( .apk.odex are easier to find this way)

then move them in to there respected folders.

Depending on the .apk.odex they belong in one of three folders.(1) system/app (2) system/apps (3) system/priv-app

I'd love see ur problem resolved. That mainly depends on the community knowing what exactly happened

The error message is "Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped"

This started right after I did a factory reset on my rooted LG L70. Only half of the apps were being recognized as rooted, the rest were being denied root by superuser. I tried to reload su and apps2sd tb/u but nothing helped to fix it so I did the factory rest. Right after it rebooted the error messages started coming, They come twice in a row every 2 minutes or so. When I tried to fix it by suggestions on this forum and others they didn't work for me and then I lost all ability to make calls or load my contacts. The fix that I did was to go into apps and clear data & cache of media services, then contacts and contacts storage. None of those worked for me.

As far as IMEI #'s they are all good, nothing changed with them. I can't remember which apps I tried to update offhand, my sd card has so many files and I was getting very frustrated. Most changes made were done with Root Explorer pro. I'm afraid I've completely screwed this up, I can't even get to the menu to check USB debugging anymore. I'm hoping that there is a reloadable rom for this phone but it doesn't look like it because no one can get the bootloader unlocked. I'm not very computer savvy like many of those on these forums. I can't even get the phone unrooted now, when I try it just hangs forever on uninstaling and clearing root and I'm forced to reboot. I know that this stems from the contacts and syncing of gmail and dropbox accounts which are now also unusable because of this error.

I don't remember deleting any system apk's or odex files. This whole thing stems from some basic file getting screwed up when I did the factory reboot while rooted.

Factory resetting a rooted phone from the settings menu is very, very, bad.

You will brobably need to flash the factory firmware in emergency/download mode.

There should already be a thread on that topic.

Factory reset is only bad if a custom recovery.img is installed.
Root and factory reset is perfectly safe

The rooting of the lg l70 called for SuperSu not SuperUser. I believe geohot uses an exploit in the superuser app to grant root privilege to system.

Only problem it grants every app root privilege. (I witnessed it firsthand before installing supersu)

Using SuperSU Fix's this be over writing what geohot app did and updates binary

Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped

.acore is short for (android core apps)
Its like a tree of apps that all use the same resource's. (They hold hands)

You must of deleted vital system apps.
Hope u have them backed up

When u reset/restore phone
If image file doesn't match system image in recovery u could get problems.

Try and find missing system apk/odex place in right folder in system reset permissions and it (should) fix ur problem
Error.

Great news, (for me at least) I got my phone flashed back to stock and am now in the process of updating apps and checking messages.

Can't Thank You guys on these forums for enough, special thanks to BiggiePhil without his help I would have had to pay Metro to get this phone replaced. Also for the leads and help on xda forums who provided all the files needed to reboot back to stock.

If anyone else has similar problems and needs to completely reset their phones because of messing things up please go to the root section on this thread and look for both No root for L70 and the Download mode threads for the instructions on how to save your phone from serious problems created by screwing around with my phone and not knowing what I was doing exactly.

I had the same issue and everything worked fine in Safe Mode which meant it was an App issue and NOT an Android operating system issue. Was worried having to reset my phone and restore from backup would be extra work and still not solve the issue. Cleared Contacts data and storage and the problem persisted. Uninstalled Facebook (on a hunch because it was having a problem loading) from my phone and the problem STOPPED. Apparently the contacts in Facebook were conflicting either with the Hangouts and Contacts+ apps (or maybe even Google+). For now the issue is resolved but I will have to figure how to reinstall Facebook and not have the contact syncing conflict.

I don't know what caused mine to malfunction, since I don't use facebook or have it installed anyway. Could be something with google+. I don't quite remember exactly what prompted it to begin in the first place. glad you found a way around it without having to do a complete reset.
