Help android.process.media error

So I've browsed multiple forum all seem to have something slightly different on the solution to the problem. The most common was that there is a problem with the android market update. Well I've deleted the update, cleared market updater and download manager. it got a little bit better. I can download an app but as soon as it hits 100% the error pops up again and I'm forced to close whihc is preventing the install of the app. Anyone know what else it could be? I also did the format SD card fix.

I have a solution. You need Root Explorer for this:

1. Open root explorer. If you don't have it, download it. It will help you out of nearly every jam you get in.

2. Go to the data folder. Then the next data folder. Then find the file named "android.process.media". Delete it.

3. Delete it and it should go away for good.

Tell me if it works or you have any problems.

I know that's what I am hoping to do. The problem is I cannot get any downloads from the market to finish successfully to my phone because of the error. I do not have a broswer on the phone as well so I cannot dl it third party. I need to be able to load the root explorer from my pc and install it on the phone but I cannot figure out how to access the SD card without a explorer. I can copy paste programs onto my SD card but I cannot find away to install the program from the SD card now.

I do not have a broswer on the phone as well so I cannot dl it third party. I now got the astro and other apps onto the phone. appearently this android.process.media is the program which intialized the install protocal. I found a folder now that was labeled downloads thru think office and it had all the setup files stored from me downloading them from the market but the error would pop up and stop the install so from here I just selected the downloaded file and forced install. I still get the error when I download the file and then I have to open think office to do the install. So now that I have teh ability of downloading an opening I can work here. You mentioned that the file was under the second data folder? I looked and couldnt find it. Are you sure its there? I'd love to correct the problem the right way so I don't get these error messages.

If it really bothers you, you could always flash a new ROM which would definitely fix the problem

This is why your Market doesn't work. The stock browser is hardwired into several aspects of the phone in the LG Optimus M, including Android Market. You will need to reinstall it to fix the functionality of your phone. There are a few threads on reinstalling system apps and a copy of the Browser.apk file.
