Root Android Revolution HD 6.3.3 - Stopping the spinning "carousel" animation upon unlock

Evening all,

I am using Android Revolution HD 6.3.3

and whilst I really like 99% of it, the spinning animation, or carousel effect upon unlock is really annoying and REALLY spoils use of the rom.
I have searched the XDA thread and the only options are for the 7.0.x versions,

does anyone have any ideas on how to stop this needless spinning animation ?

seems to be something a lot of people are asking for, but i cant find a solution for the version of ARHD i am using..

Android Revolution is always designed to be exactly like stock in visual and tweaking terms, but with a lot of work under the hood. This means that unless someone has made a tweak that will stop the animation, you won't be able to turn it off. I've had a look through the thread on xda and unfortunately I can't find anything that would help :(

A lot of Sense 3.5 ROMs (it's possible it's even in stock 3.5) have the ability to turn the carousel animation off, so it it really bothers you you could try one of those. Or as Mehta says, LeeDroid Sense 3.0 has the option to turn it off :)

I'd rather stick with ARHD rather than LeeDroid :), the Leedroid tweaks works with sense 3.5, but I'm on Sense 3.0 :(

Fair enough :) LeeDroid is Sense 3.0 only, as it's always taken from the official DHD base and not ported like Sense 3.5

It doesn't, trust me :) When you do a full wipe sometimes the wipe data/factory reset option does wipe the sd-ext partition but that's fine (it will ask you before you do it). As long as you don't tell it to wipe the sd card in it's entirety then you're fine :)

but it says this :-

Q: What is A2SD+

  • A:
  • A2SD+ Moves your apps & Dalvik cahche to a hidden EXT partition on your MicroSD
  • You will be required to format you SD card with 2 partitions as laid out below

How do i set up my MicroSD ready for A2SD+
  • A:
  • Backup all data on you SD card (this will be Formatted)
  • The card should be formatted with your standard FAT32 partition 1st followed by an EXT3 partition (I would recommend a minimum 512mb)
  • Linux users use GParted or a similar software.
  • For everyone else I would recommend using Rom Manager or CWM
  • Once you have downloaded ROM manager from the market, open the app and click partition SD Card, Select your EXT size and set 0mb for swap
  • Restore your data to your SD.
  • Flash the A2SD+ Patch
  • Boot << Please be aware, 1st boot may take a while depending on how many apps you have installed.






argh confused now lol.....
 
That's only if you want to use A2SD (apps to SD) but unless you have hundreds of apps, you probably won't need to use it as the internal memory on the DHD is quite large. I've certainly never run out of space and have currently about ~500MB free.

When you flash the ROM the A2SD is not automatically done and can be chosen another time (or not at all:))
