The tablet won't charge it only comes on when plug in only i have tried to charge it over night but with no result

Dumb question but are you sure you have it plugged into the right port? Some plugs will also fit into the 3.5mm audio jack physically but obviously won't charge. Also make sure the tablet is powered on as some won't charge when powered off.
