For no logical reason, it seems that a great many Bluetooth mice are finicky about pairing without full power, in my experience.

If it's a rechargeable, see if it does better after a full charge.

If it's got a name or model on it, you're may have good luck Googling for "how to pair xyx mouse."

Yeah that's what I tried before posting with no luck mate.
That's the strange thing mate. It was normal aaa batteries in it so I replaced them with fresh ones.....
Nope think it's for the bin and I'll buy a keyboard with trackpad

Dummy admission.
I'd assumed the mouse dock was a charger but it's actually a USB dock.
Plughed it into the box, paired the mouse with it and Hey presto :D
Lord for an intelligent guy I ain't that smart

Another issue. Root checker and titanium both say the box is EDIT: 'NOT" rooted but one of my TV catch up apps says it is and doesn't accept rooted devices.. Where do I go from here?
Su isn't installed but a root checker says busybox is but I can't find it in app drawer or app manager ....

.... To makes things worse the bloody app works on my rooted phone!
Are there any apps that cloak root to chosen apps?

Busybox only exists (typically) in /system/xbin - what you see in the app drawer is an installer and updater - not necessary.

And the superuser binary can easily exist without the controlling app.

So without true root i have no way to remove them?
Just tried the first cloaking app on Play and it failed. Think it's just broken with my machine.. Having to watch Humans on th 5.5'" screen which isn't so bad when it's close I guess
check out the trailer a lot of people believed it was true lol ;D

Emon please see my edit above. Does this make any difference.
Cheers

I assumed that typo from your earlier description.

What bothers me is that TV app working on your rooted phone but not the TV device.

Can you get to the same service via a browser?
I assume so. Good thinking batman. I'll try that tomorrow.
Cheeeeers :)

Sorry for late reply but no. Even their service rep told me I couldn't and that they're "working on a fix for me" for my cheap wee box.... Doubt it. Wonder if a vpn would work......?

It's a hold with both hands affair and type with thumbs like an old blackberry and the touchpad kinda unbalances that but it works and has full media controls.
Glad I bought it (for £13/$19) :)

Are you sure it's not actually rooted? I've watched some YouTube reviews of ones that are rooted out of the box.
Well root checker and titanium say it isn't mate but there must be some traces of binary or something in there.
I asked the support rep of one of the apps that claims it's rooted HOW they actually detect root so I could try n hack it out of it but they never replied to that question (probably for obvious reasons lol) :(

Gonna mail these *bleeps* again just out of badness lol.......

The tv app recognizes that the os is modified and probably not includind some components that are needed for the playback (drm).

Have you already tried to turn off adb (/usb debugging)? Sometimes when those are enabled, tv apps wont work. (Dont know does usb debugging affects your usb devices.) Ah it was an usb stick, maybe NOT turning off usb debugging then!

Not sure but I haven't really messed with the dev options since its just a box mate but I will ensure USB Debugging is disabled.
Thanks man :thumbsupdroid:

Not sure about usb, because it is working through usb?? Dont really know whats happening if you turn it off (if it is on). But check the adb option.

Are you sure there is no superuser.apk installed? There cant be any that kind or related apks or some tv apps indicates that the device is rooted.
