Nope no superuser and Root Checker app says it's not rooted. And it connects via hdmi.
I'll post my latest reply from the manufacturer. I'm gonna just keep it though and try a vpn later :thumbsupdroid:

Lmao

USB debugging on = start adb daemon

Nothing more.
On a youtube buzz right now so hadn't even tried that.
Think a vpn could work?
I just don't get how these apps worked on my rooted (SuperSU) phone yet they don't on this stick.
Gonna experiment with casting once I'm outa my music vibe :thumbsupdroid:

I was remembering that there were another option for e.g. mtp under the usb debugging. Wierd, i just checked my Note10.@ and there isnt that option. Im sure it was there before because i had to turn usb debugging on when attaching it to my laptop and especially to check the mtp option.

Well anyway...

Some TV apps are pretty demanding and if they recognize any modification at all, they wont work. And as they said, they have rooted it, done some modification to it, and that tv app recognizes it.

It is odd that it works with your rooted phone though. I cant think about anything else than it checks also hardware/software part and if every parts of them is fulfilling drm demands.

Tap that on my phone and you get a set of meaningless app choices because I don't have a debugger, I'm running a phone, not a developer environment.

But a proper developer options set will allow you to take that step - as a developer.

Hey guys. Me again. Does anyone have a problem with VPN apps on their Android stick?
I tried the top 10 lastnight (including one I payed for a while ago) and none of them worked (trying to get around this "rooted" issue still).
Cheers :thumbsupdroid:

vpn is just for connecting networks (private/hide/secure tunnel, e.g. a fake location) together and it doesnt have anything to do with apps recognizing modified OS.

im not even sure if you are able to do anything to get it work, if they have modified the os and the app youre using is simply coded not to work with an altered os. the app probably checks hw/sw (drm issue) and if they are altered anyway or not.

im quite sure that they have changed it somehow trying to avoid digital media protections and the app you are using recognizes it and wont work.
