Im not positive, but I do believe that the android 2.2 firmware was already released, as was the 2.2 market (which I caught a glimpse of but for some reason reverted back to the old one) :confused:

Would someone plz post a link to both of them? :D
Or tell me how to do it or something :(

The 2.2 update was never released for Cricket, only Metro. If you refuse to root your phone, there is no way to update it. Sorry. Welcome to the forums, btw.

Well, rooting will technically void your warranty, but Z4root is a one-click method for rooting the Ascend(2.1) that lets you un-root just as easily so Cricket would never know. Honestly, most of the stores are too dumb to know anyway. Rooting will not update your phone, it simply allows you to access parts of your phone that are normally blocked off by the carrier/manufacturer. That will let you update it with custom ROMs.

Actually, you really only need the second one, it covers rooting as well.

and cm6 will be the best 2.2 even if cricket release it anyhow, lol its better than metro by far...:D
