Android update

It wasn't a major update. The biggest differences are you can now expand notifications with one finger. And homescreen rotation is enabled now
 
Pong ...omg that is so cool! If only they let us have NUMBERS! from the top row of keys! And display them in fine print ... Like kindle fire does?

I was noticing it was much more sensitive !! Sweet!
 
It installs when it shuts down and restarts, takes a few minutes. Looks like it is doing nothing then shuts down and starts back up.
 
Keep getting 4.2 update notification. It downloads and tries to install but always fails. This has happened 9, yes 9 times. Current version on N7 is 4.1.2 Any ideas on how to get it to load> I clear out the "Google Services Framework" and keep trying. Still won't update. Contacted ASUS for help and here is the response:

1. Please clean the DMClient’s data: Settings -> Apps -> all -> DMClient press “clear data” and “Force Stop”

I have no idea what any of that means. DMClient isn't listed any where.

Again, any ideas?

Can I ask you a few questions?

1. Is the N7 rooted? (and have you changed anything after rooting or are you stock but rooted)

2. What exactly are you seeing then the install fails? (that info would be very helpful?)

If not rooted, you might have to do a FR and then try updating again

Can I ask how much available internal storage you have?

Can you go to Settings -> Storage and see how much space shows in the "Available" row?

The reason I ask is that there are space requirements for the OTA to be able to successfully install (i.e., in the /cache partition). If you've used up most of your internal storage, then the OTA will not be able to install (although I would have thought there would be a message displayed on the screen).

Just something to check / eliminate...
 
Just got this tablet back from ASUS service center in Texas because it froze up. They said they did a Operating System reset. ???? Cam back like it left with 4.1.2, only been 9 days since I got it back. Guess I should ROOT and be done.
