Android upgrade from 2.2 to 2.3

I picked up an HTC Desire on the Telus network. Unlocked the phone and am using it on Rogers. (Canada)

Is there any way to upgrade Android to v2.3 from my current 2.2?

As of now official 2.3 is not available from news they say to wait till end of april or mid may to get official 2.3 to HTC Desire.

Meanwhile if you are ready to root and install custom ROM you can get 2.3 ROM. Popular ROM for 2.3 is oxygen and gingervillian.

Thanks for the reply. So, from what I read from your reply, the HTC Desire is still supported and will be able to run 2.3, just have some patience.

There's a handful of 2.3 ROMs on XDA once you root, however most of them has a share of issues which is why I prefer sticking to 2.2 if I want to actually use the phone all day. The call delay bug is the most annoying and the fix doesn't always work.

HTC is bound to release 2.3 Sense within the next couple months, so hold onto your hat.
