Root Android Vanilla ROM

I tried to do a search and I dunno maybe my brains gone a lil dippy or I just wasn't searching the right place or something I dunno...

Im looking for a 2.2 froyo complete vanilla android...Im using leedroid 2.3c but I dunno its starting to run a lil laggy...and I dont use sense at all, and well im a bit bored of using LPP and I realised thats whats causing the lag..

I know LP comes with leedroid, but its not the pro version and thus if I clicked something thats there I'll obviously get a "buy this" message come up..

anyways like I said im looking for a stable 100% complete vanilla 2.2 android ROM that supports apps2SD that I dont have to mess about with kernals etc just straight install and done..

sorry if this didn't make much sense...im a lil sleep deprived lol

Didn't realise LP came with LeeDroid. I thought it was just Sense and Launcher2 (according to the xda thread anyway) - L2 is just what any vanilla rom will come with. I'm running 2.3d (faster than c I feel) with LauncherPro Plus on top of it. The only time I get any real lag is down the the A2SD - especially when installing or updating apps.

You are right, LP does not come with Leedroid. I'm running 2.3d with LPP on top also with no problems

my mistake...it just looked like launcher pro...to be fair I spent about 10 seconds with it and just installed LPP on there....

I might give leedroid 2.3d though to see if it runs faster..

It's worth a try as you can flash straight over c without wiping. If you still don't like it then you haven't really wasted much time.

Hopefully the re-write of LP is just around the corner. Performance should be much improved.

yea maybe..I mean I dunno whats causing the memory loss, but im usually down to like 30MB of RAM left, I did have have LPP running, beautiful widgets...a whole host of other widgets like news and such...

As am interim solution. You mentioned that your low on memory and when I moved my Dalvik cache to the sd card it free'd up about 50mb. Open a terminal and type;

su a2sd cachesd

At least I think its what you type, I typed jaffa Cakes into it and it didn't know what I was talking about.

Only on dark tremors a2sd script.

Open terminal emulator

Type "su" and press enter to get superuser permissions

Type "a2sd cachesd" and enter to move dalvik cache for dt apps2sd to ext

It's NOT a task killer. I did say that :)

sorry dan, im not really with it today....just one of those kinda days lol

explain to me what an autokiller is...and how to do the terminal emulator....yes im having ONE of those days where I dont even trust myself to google things lol

It may not work for you anyway as a2sd is baked in on the Leedroids. I flash and a2sd scrpt separately. You can still download a terminal from the market.

Then you have not got dark tremor, so its irrelevant

I guess so lol ah well...the phone its topping bout 180MB+ now for ram....but I did stop running a number of widgets most notably something like 7 picture frames and cut LPP down to five panels instead of 7....but what I dont really get is this only just started getting very low in the last couple of days and I had more than this on there and was high before..

ugh, guess I may of installed something that was a bit...well....shall we say bitchy with the ram I dunno....guess its the old trial and error method to find what it is..

Hey,

I am attempting to install the Oxygen Android 2.3 Gingerbread ROM On my HTC Desire after having rooted using the Unlockr process. However after selecting the ROM from the file location on the SD card the screen keeps flashing the OXYGEN green neon logo against a completely black background after re-boot.

It has been more than 10-15 minutes should i continue to wait? Please advise?

Invaulable advice!
I read the guides, faq's and a whole host of threads before rooting .... and still needed to ask questions :D

funny you say that...I know a reasonable amount (cept bout tables etc) and STILL I sent Dan a message the other day bout flashing a ROM lol :D;)
