All these dratted version names are driving me crazy! Someone please provide a list of what these names - Gingerbread, Eclair, Honeycomb, Froyo, etc. mean in terms of version numbers. Which came first the Honeycomb or the Gingerbread? AaaRrrGggHhh!

Thanks very much,

sooooooooo............ what do sweet treats have to do with androids and robotics? i see the pattern, but not the connection

I don't think there really is a reason. Perhaps one of the developers was eating a cupcake and thought it would be cool. Software has a long history of odd version names. Everything right through girls names, animals, muppets and sweet treats has been used. It's just a bit of fun. Anything's better than a boring old number.

KitKat would prob be a trademark issue, so im guessing key lime pie

not very... snappy/catchy though is it... I thought about the trademark thing but it'd be pretty cool!
they couldn't change one beginning with C could they? like... Kookie?

yeah I can see Keylime I suppose. still it won't be until 2012 or even 2013 so we don't have to worry too much :)

For K how about Knickerbocker Glory. Doesn't really sound much like an android version name but it is an amusing word if you have the mental age of a 6 year old (like me)
