Android w/ tether vs mobile broadband?

I did talk to the rep and they said it's violating the TOS, but they won't limit or cancel your data if you do it. They will just not warranty the phone if you "root" it and damage it because of it...

Aside from that, the phone is actually pissing me off now that I've been using it for a week. It has great features, but the keyboard prediction is AWFUL. The typing on the keyboard is AWFUL. I try so hard to type well and somehow the simplest words are being messed up even after calibration, and the prediction system is just sooo bad.

Is anyone experiencing this? I'm actually thinking about returning the phone because I just can't type on it.

I didn't see that. I tried the "Original" "Compact" "Phone layout" options. That's all I have to choose from. They all suck, but I left it on the layout that looks like the iphone in landscape mode.

Another thing that is bothering me is, none of the HTML links in my email's are clickable.

Oh, I know. The prediction isn't making it harder to type, it just sucks overall. The typing is what's difficult. I can't type simple things without multiple spelling errors because I'm not 100% dead on with touching each letter.

I guess I"m not going to keep it.

The recommendation is that you get another keyboard app from the Play Store. There are several good ones out there:

Swiftkey
SlideIt
Swype (must get this from Swype.com and install the Beta)

There's even an iPhone clone keyboard in the Play Store.

Stock keyboards are notoriously bad. IDKY. Fortunately, with Android you are free to install another keyboard and use that instead.

I'll try to tinker with the phone for the next several days, but I personally don't think it's the phone for me. I'm doubling my phone bill (after 2 years when the plan drops from $55 to $40) from $20 to $40 just for the added tether feature (only feature I really care about). I think I was better off with a basic non smart phone. Maybe I'll have better luck with a month to month mobile plan.

Okay, I returned the phone and stopped using BM for a service.

I decided to give "Smart Phones" another chance.

I'm considering buying another Android, but from SmartTalk.

Choose Your Phone

I hear that their speeds are equal to AT&T since they use their towers. I'm not sure why I didn't come across this before.

I'm interested in the LG Optimus Zip or the iPhone. Anyone here own a Zip?
