Meanwhile, AndyX v12.0 has just been released!

Changelog:
- Based on ICS 4.0.3 OFFICIAL XWLP9
- Modem LPS (Best Modem to date)
- Kernel CF-Root XWLP8
- New Status Bar (New Shade) with blue notices ICS
- New Tweak to speed up the face of Battery
- New Nova Launcher 1.1.2
- New Apex Launcher 1.1.0
- New icon and new images on AndyX ROM Gallery
- Improved Startup Script
- New aesthetic touches in the interface (for me)
- New icons in Apps
- Fixed bug in Launchers

G'day Kie. Got a Question, since v9 the ability to set a music track as the default ringtone has stopped. Is it just me or is this function no longer standard on andyX rom? Hopefully yourself or another forum member can help out, perhaps there is a way to alter the build to access this action?
 
If you have Hancent installed, you can select it through the Hancent SMS ringtone picker when you try to change it from the Sound menu.
Failing that, go into the music app, long press the track and select "use as phone ringtone"
 
Been on v12 all day. No problems.
And combined with Siyah 3.2b5, its a winner! Very happy with it
:D

I still want to give MIUI a go, but it will have to be pretty good to get me off AndyX to be honest.
 
Just flash it. Seems ok till now. Followed " webby62" instructions:

* Wipe cache

* Wipe Dalvik cache

* Wipe battery stats

then flash the update,everything is exactly the same as before,doesnt hurt to do a backup if your worried somthing might go wrong.;)
Nothing went wrong. All apps are in place. if any FC will appear i`ll let you know.

As i`m quite new to Android and this sort of things (flashing roms & kernels) can i ask you what are the advantages of Siyah 3.2b5? I`m interested in stability and battery life mostly.

Ahhh I just installed V11 few days ago!! Happy that V12 is out.. but full wipe :( I don't like. Takes like agessss restoring my 20K messages lol
 
Can you flash v12 without being on Andy x or do you have to update from a previous version? I've tried installing with a full wipe and I never get past the Samsung screen. I've tried reflashing and changing kernel but still the same.
 
Did you notice the ROM installed very quickly?
I've been getting this frequently on ICS kernels.

the trick is to do all your wipes, then in CWM recovery choose "reboot recovery" and then go straight in to flash the ROM.
 
Nah still the same. I'm thinking that it doesn't like being flashed onto gb. I'm going to accept defeat tonight as I've got an early start in the morning. At least it gives me a reason to avoid doing my job tomorrow:)

I've been able to use music as ringtones on all AndyX Roms I've tried without any hassle. I also use music as alarms and no problems there either.

I flashed AndyX v3.0 over checkrom but haven't gone back to GB, but I imagine people can still cross-over at v12.

All the same, maybe try an older version, Shotty.

It seemed to flash a little on the quick side. Although everything looked like it was flashing correctly with the progress bar and what was being flashed.

Problem solved. I had to redownload the file and it flashed fine. I really should of thought of that yesterday.:stupid:

Thanks for the help Hawker. Installed v12 last night and found setting the ringtone from the music app is working for me again, not sure why it didn't work through v10 til now on my phone. Lucky adesirello keeps spitting out new versions.
 
I was too lazy to do the full wipes, thought i would see if it worked if i just flashed over and yeah it works fine haha. :), Usually it would result in it being frozen at the boot..
 
Theoretically it should work everytime if you do wipe cache, wipe dalvik and clear battery stats (unless you're coming from Gingerbread). The fullwipe is an extra layer of protection. I personally never leave my rom without it!

Im having issue with my contacts, when i delete contact then it just crash

Any way i can get it fixed

My Phone works fine, but my brother phone with same rom is playing up

Im having the same prob on each version too,just done a complete wipe for v12 and still the same FC when i delete a contact :(
saying that i am delighted with the Rom and might stay with it for quite a while,i am waiting for checkrom v7 but fed up waiting
