AndyX ROM

You have any Email issues at all? This new ICS email client is terrible compared to the GB one. No option for premium accounts etc. Also it doesnt bloody work for me. Constant errors.
 
can anyone tell me from my noob point of view, is it worth my putting siyah on my phone with andyx on, what difference does the kernel make, or is it not worth me looking into it unless i was interested in changing the voltage / cpu speed etc?

Most of the benefits are battery saving tweaks like the voltage/cpu settings. Another benefit is the dual boot feature which saves time when testing new roms :)
 
if most of the benefits are battery saving does that mean the phone will suffer more from lag etc or is the original kernel just not very good at it and this siyah version is goof at performance as well as managing the battery?
 
one of the missing features of this rom is while on call, there is no way that you can do a conference call or three way calling. pls include it to or fix it for the upcoming update.
 
I noticed much performance improvement over the Kernal bundled with the Rom. Siyah is well worth flashing.

I noticed that too. Also remember I'm not the developer of this rom. Those kinds of requests have to go in the official thread here.
 
No more issue for me. Email fixed. Seems to of been an access issue. Ni problem now and a happy andyx user.

Sorry was typing on my phone at the time. I had tried to get my email client to accept my IMAP details the past couple days via Hdspa or wifi at work and was greeted by failure "can not connect to server" errors amongst all kinda SSL codes. Tried to access via my homes Wi-FI and it worked first time.

I don't know a thing about VPN so can offer you little help but I know now that Virgin media are a damn fickle bunch.
 
Is there a way to move the notifications around? I use the rotation alot and its on the second page, so would like to move it for wifi hotspot as dont use that as much.

And is there a way to put the install/open button back to the left hand side and not the right?

What launcher is everyone using with this?
 
after just flashing this, in the play store if i go to my apps, and nothing is listed, its just a blank white page.. is this normal? how do i know if something needs to be updated? (apex launcher keeps bugging me to update)

You can't rearrange the notification bar toggles on sammy-based roms AFAIK.

Do you mean when installing programs? I noticed that too! It's been swapped. I'm thinking that's google playing into right-handed peoples...hands! Can't be changed either.

I'm using Apex Launcher. It seems to be the popular choice with ICS users. I also had a bit of joy with trebuchet back when I first used ICS.

Yeah you need to restore your apps with Titanium first before they appear on the Play Store. If you don't use Titanium, I've seen it myself that they don't appear, but once you setup your google account with sync, and maybe try a reboot, they'll appear and start installing.

so apps already in the rom won't appear in the play store? In Checkrom the apps in the rom appeared in the playstore before i even touched titanium, its different with andy x?

For some reason my titanium backup isn't working. possibly due to going from GB to ICS? It freezes on 2% then crashes after 10minutes or so.

I find it to be rather sporadic. Sometimes it does, sometimes not.

Your Titanium has run into a program that it causing it to freeze. When you batch restore, you should untick the program/s that are around 2% of the progress, ie if you have 100 apps to restore, then you would untick the second and third apps. This should stop the freezing at 2%. You can restore the unticked apps individually afterwards.

i cant remember but i think this rom came with quickpanel settings? thats how you add/remove and rearrange the toggles
 
One very annoying thing is the 'no room on homescreen' when you either open an app or download a new one. And when you download it, it puts it straight on the homescreen where ever there is room.

Is there a way to stop the error message and stop putting them on my homescreen by default?

go into play store settings and turn off auto add widget to homescreen after download

I have same problem. Tried to uninstall it using Titanium and reinstalling from Play Store. No luck!
