Angry Birds on VM?

radiocycle

Newbie
Hey All,

I've downloaded Angry Birds on my Virgin Mobile Intercept and it runs for a while. But then after the phone sleeps and I turn it on again, Angry Birds seems broken. It runs as slow as molasses in the winter! I deleted it and downloaded another copy but same as the first time; runs great for a while then breaks! Anyone out here have AB on their VM Intercept?

tnx,

I don't currently have it 'cause I recently did a factory reset & I haven't downloaded everything back yet.
I had a similar experience with it working, then getting super laggy. I uninstalled then reinstalled it and after that it worked ok. I've heard quite a few people have had issues with AB regardless of the carrier. :/

Restart from Levlel 1 and it runs fine. Its when you "resume" from where you left off it has lag issues - its a bug.

Yep...having the same issue. I'm finding if I get in a ways, like 14 or 15 on the first level, if I pause, it hangs...very sluggish. Restarting the phone doesn't help. Trying the Lite version Beta to see if it's any better.

And...as an update....Angry Birds Lite will download, but not load...it crashes on startup. I also got the Holiday Angry Birds and it slowed to a crawl in less than 30 minutes...I suspect the phone is being overwhelmed by the app, much like a Celeron processor PC with limited memory would choke on a gaming app. The Intercept reminds me of a low-end PC...good for basic tasks like e-mail, web surfing, navigation and running basic apps, but anything higher end, like gaming or video, and it starts to suffer.

Try this:

Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Angry Birds > Clear Cache

Yeah, thanks GAMESHARO! I was hopeful but there was 0 in the cache.

I also tried AB Lite but had the same results as TVCCS. So I'm of the opinion that it's just not a compatible app for VM Intercept at this time. Maybe, in time, AB will come out with a version for us VM folks.

I had this same problem when I first got Angry Birds.

I can't remember exactly what I did to fix it. I believe I either cleared the cache or uninstalled and reinstalled it. Then the problem went away.

But it sounds like you already tried both of those. Hopefully someone else can help you.
