Help Annoying GPS keeps popping up

I always have my gps turned off but whenever i wake my phone from sleep i get this annoying 'searching for gps box' appear pop up. It says GPS disabled.

anyone have this..how can i get rid of it?

Have you tried a battery pull, to see if that sorts it out?

Is standalone GPS checked in your settings?

Also, if you've installed a GPS widget, some carriers disable GPS when a 3rd party GPS widget/app is detected.

the only gps ones i have are location, navigation, latitude, maps

where is standalone GPS checked in settings. I have the gps satellites unchecked and so is use wireless networks
