Help Annoying multiple browser windows on Galaxy Note ICS

Hi,

I am using my Galaxy Note in India on a BSNL prepaid connection. Every time I start the internet browser, one or two extra windows open up taking me to some BSNL Net Edge solutions webpage. This is a recent development.

I have restored the browser settings to the default settings, but this does not help.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem so that the browser only opens up the default google page that I set?
